Time for a reality check regarding this list. First, if you go through the rosters once they're posted--and it may take a couple more weeks for the freshmen to be included--you'll find a lot of freshmen listed on those rosters (primarily at D3 schools) that weren't in the list. That's simply because this list is compiled from a variety of sources, none of which is comprehensive, so it will miss some kids.
Second, there will be some kids on this list who don't appear on rosters. This can happen in all divisions. There are lots of reasons why this can happen. First off, the kid may have decided to go to a different school. Or he may have decided that he didn't want to play soccer, either to focus on academics or simply because he decided that he doesn't want to have to dedicate all of that time to soccer. Injuries could play a role. Finally, some of these kids may be walk-ons that don't make their teams.
None of this means that the list is full of "wrong info." It means that things change over time.Comment

I’ve done it that way for 10 years so the different years can be compared. 5 games is enough to get an early look at who is playing and who is not. If you look at the past 9 seasons, it has worked well. For those who are impatient, it is too long. There are some on this thread like that. For others, they can wait until my end of season analysis.
