How many starts is considered a starter?

50% or more of their team's games that season.

I think a lot of male players have a very hard time with not playing. The transfer rate for men's soccer is 20% while it's only 10% for women (NCAA stats). That's just transfers, it doesn't include drop outs and cuts. A well targeted freshmen should usually get some minutes, some will even get excellent minutes. If you're getting zero PT it isn't necessarily a death sentence but if sophomore year doesn't improve greatly you should very concerned. The one exception is GKs as most coaches will only play their starting GK and that's it.

Yet another reason to never let your kid get in net.

Based on those results, DA is hardly having its intended impact. I would have thought a direct correlation between DA and success in college

Close to 80% of one local DA roster are headed to college for soccer.

That seems low. Usually close to 100% of DA players and players on the top GPS and NEFC teams are going to college to play soccer. 20% of a DA team not playing would be a concern (unless they are just going pro and not going to college at all). Not all will make it through 4 years, but most of them start there.

Looks like GPS just published its college list on its website--a bunch of Mass names not on this list.

The top GPS U18 team has 21 players rostered. Only 2 are on the commitment list.

The list is missing a lot of names ...

I count 12, plus some more from the 2001 team.

Looking closer, it’s more like 19 from the 2000s from mass and another 10 or so from the 2001s from mass. I would guess that the majority of the other 2001s are still juniors.
