OMG! If the Revs cut players that are committed and kept players unable to commit that’s incredibly damning. If currently committed players left to commit that is also an indictment of the Revs.

Not really. As many have previously mentioned, the Revs Academy is trying to produce professional players. Could be that the players they kept were solely focused on soccer, neglecting the school side, so we're indeed better soccer players than those cut. But with poor grades they either weren't able to commit, or perhaps didn't even apply, hoping to join a USL team somewhere.

Many were cut/left before it was recruiting time also so just because they got recruited at other clubs doesn't mean they wouldn't have with the Revs either. But yes, the Revs care about turning out pro talent, not college. This isn't unusual for any MLS club really and it's a problem since most families do care about college and they can't run teams with the handful of high potential players. I've little doubt the families on that list are plenty happy with some of those great schools their kids will be going to, but they didn't have to deal with the Revs and their private school kids were allowed to play too. Win/win for those families

It’s safe to say +50% of the Revs U19 and U17 rosters have their eyes firmly set on D1 soccer. Sadly those players would be better off at the Bolts, NEFC or Seacoast. I feel badly for the trapped 2021 and 2022 players.

OMG STOP with the "sorry your kid didn't get an offer" BS.

Everything on this thread is true (or was at least). You can't have a son playing for them because you would know this if you did.

If the Revs didn’t cave and start offering ISL waivers they’d have no college commitments. So much for wanting “pro” players because ISL kids are going to a strong academic college 100 times out of 100. So much for developing first team players.

No they are not. Some of those boys are dumb as a rock. ISL can’t cure that.

Very few ISL kids are “dumb.” Also, ISL schools care about college placement so they help students find a school, unlike the Revs.

Now, I’m sure there are less academically accomplished players on the Revs rosters, but those aren’t the ISL kids.

When players forego college to take the “pro” route at the Revs things generally end badly.

That's easy - Foxboro - Real High School with real college dreams

No "pro" is gonna ever come outta foxboro - MSL is recruiting from Europe - and top soccer players live in all climates - kansas, seattle, toronto - but especially somerville, everett and malden where they lack nannies who can drive the benz to foxboro to fulfill a degenerate programs needs - top players are ones who don't have Harvard, brown, columbia expectations... and definitely live in these communities. Wake UP America! stop keeping soccer an elite white college bound sport keeping us from even making it to international competition -

Are you honestly saying that replacing 10 players on the Revs roster with 10 players from the list above wouldn’t make the Revs U19’s a much better squad?

Are the Revs scouts clueless, biased or just lazy?
You are lazy and clueless, maybe bias as well.

most of those kids had other aspirations than driving to foxboro for measly ridiculous club.

Your jealousy is showing. You pay $4k for soccer and I pay $0. Ouch!!!!!!!

It's hard to work a part time job and go to soccer practice 3-4 times per week plus a game on the weekend.

My kid will end up playing in college. Where will yours end up? I'll have an extra $20,000 in the bank becuase I haven't paid for soccer for years and years. Sad for you.
