If not, assuming they save their money, they can go to college after. The Revs pay for 4 years of online college with a partner university.. Home grown players can use this benefit any time, including when they get cut. It’s not Ivy, but it’s something.

I will say this. If you think NEFC, Bolts, Surf, Aztecs, etc really care about their players education, I urge caution. They use college commits to sell their clubs. It’s part of their marketing strategy. They don’t really care in the way you’d like them to care. Their bottom line is money. So, it doesn’t make sense to single out the Revs in this regard. Btw, when I say “they”, I mean the clubs in general, not individual coaches who might have really great relationships with your kids, and care about their futures.

Btw, from what I can see, the talent pool in the North East hasn’t been very strong, relative to what it takes to become a pro. Could be coaching. Could be demographics. Could be population size. Obviously a combination of causes.
Of course no club really cares about your kid's education or future, but the Revs care even less. Of course it's financially drive, but another said even just that appearance of not caring will make some families hesitate sending their kids there. Families see lists from other clubs and see kids who go to solid public/private and prep schools and land at good colleges. While the club didn't really get them there, it gives the appearance it helped. Marketing matters, especially when most families are pretty realistic that their kid is never going pro.

This is just one NEPSAC school and it has sent more kids on to pro soccer than the Revs.

Ya this isn’t even close. NEPSAC probably produces ten times the number of pros. I’m guessing in a 10 year span, the Revs average 5 homegrowns while 50 former NEPSAC guys sign pro contracts in 10 years.

            Nobles:
Chris Tierney (New England Revolution), Michael Videira (Chicago Fire), David Mahoney (Chicago Fire, Andrew Terris (DC United), and Chris Cleary (German Club Team).

That’s one NEPSAC school that isn’t even a boarding school with international studs coming in. And this list is more impressive that the Revs list. The big boarding schools that are recruiting guys from Right to Dream in Ghana, etc are producing players like Jack Harrison who plays in the Premier League.

Just a few more top of my head...
              Charlie Davies - Brooks
Andrew Omiunu Wheeler - Roxbury Latin
              John Krause - Rivers
              Charlie Rugg - Rivers
              Sheanon Williams - Rivers

You mean the former Revs Academy. I think we are all in agreement that they were terrible-and finally after 5+ years and 10’s of thousands of posts- they agreed as well. I’m hopeful the new guy can turn things around and New England will finally get a legit MLS academy. That is only going to help all the players in the region develop whether they play for the Revs or not. If the Revs become worthy of being at the top of the pyramid then all the clubs will have to get better. Here is to brighter days ahead!

A few more NEPSAC players who have gone pro within the last 5 years:

                  Nicky Downs - Hotchkiss
                  Francis Atuahene - Hotchkiss
                  Jacob shaffleberg - Berkshire
                  Edward Opoku - Millbrook

Even if the Revs became the greatest academy in MLS, they can’t produce nearly as many pro players as NEPSAC schools.

                      Is Pro at any level?

Players under contract being paid count as professional players. Players not being paid are not professional players. This is USL 1 and is the 3rd and bottom division of pro soccer in the US along with NISA.

Doesn’t the league minimum in USL 1 qualify you for food stamps?

You may as well get fitted for a Burger King hat.

Wait a minute...we have go back 10+ years for the 150+ NEPSAC schools to produce more pros than the Revs have signed in the last 5 years? That list for South Kent had players that graduated in 2006 and 2007. What kind of comparison is that?

True in many sports. What’s your point? Should all athletes in the lower leagues of every sport quit and go work at Burger King? Maybe we should all quit our jobs when they don’t make us CEO on the first day, right you entitled snob?
