We (Coaches), are just mentors to help guide, but can we really take credit for a kid going on to the pros?? For some coaches, it may help their Ego, but no, for me, players do most improving and developing on their own time!

When is it time to revamp the entire program and start with a new youth director and staff? When will this so called legendary coach of ours, Bruce Arena, finally commit to a comprehensive system that is designed to flag all New England domiciled players and funnel them into the MLS pathway? Bryan Scales and staff have shown to be not the people to head this system. Our MLS club should not be competing and/or swapping players with local youth clubs regardless of player' circumstances. Be it wanting to compliment Academy( MLS NEXT) by playing ISL soccer or for what ever reason. Going on to play NCAA D1 soccer for a year or two then entering the draft is not a negative despite what people think. That's when boys grow into their bodies, play with much older "men", etc...The fact that college programs' perception of the Revs youth system is inferior, is very telling.
No idea what axe you have to grind against Revolution Academy, but you are really talking sh—

First, how can the Academy be around “almost two decades” when it was announced in 2007 and opened 2008? That’s a dozen years at best.

Second, since the MLS Homegrown Rule started in 2008, there have only been about 200 homegrown players from ALL MLS clubs and the Revs have sent a good share of those. Only 2 years into the program the first team signed Fagundez at 15 and he had a 10 career and a bunch of MVP seasons.

Here’s the fact, you have no clue how hard it is to identify or develop a professional-level player. To make it to the Academy, not only does the player need to be highly skilled, but the family as a whole needs to make sacrifices. Not many pre-teen or teenage kids can adapt to being away from home, years of online school, and dealing with the ups and downs of injuries, etc. It’s a grind and 9 out of 10 aren’t going to make it regardless of how skilled they are because perseverance and commitment are the biggest factors, not raw skill. By a certain point, many will just choose an “easier” path like college soccer.

Sorry your kid didn’t make it.

Revs resorting to their tired trope "your kid wasn't good enough." Their pro development track record is a joke. The club's performance in BDA not much better. As the only pro club for several states they should be swamped with talent. Instead players not on the pro track play elsewhere, and pro potentials move out of state.

Not a Rev, no association with them at all. But unlike you, I don’t assume there are so many “pro potentials”. Players with REAL pro potential actually become pros. They don’t go to college and then hang up their cleats and claim they “coulda, shoulda” been a pro.

If you are going to say their pro development track record is a joke, then you must have a basis for comparison. There were 14 MLS clubs, including the Revs, in 2008 when the Homegrown Rule started. Please list which of those 13 other MLS clubs that turned out more homegrowns from their academies than the Revs. Be sure to list the players’ names.

            FC Dallas has 30 https://www.fcdallas.com/homegrownplayers

You can look at the names yourself. The Revs never claimed to have the most homegrown players, only the most homegrown minutes - and look where the got Diego, on a bus to Austin after making the league minimum for years!

The bottom line is this-most MLS Owners don't really give a **** about developing talent or understand what it takes - least of all Bob Kraft. As the top of the boys soccer pyramid in NE they do everyone a disservice by caring so little in development and it is super lazy to say that they are just looking for the next pro player.

Most of the 05's that are on the roster this year developed at the Bolts. Most of the core group of that they took to TX as u13's have been cut or left on their own. SO either BH has no idea what he is doing OR other clubs do a better job developing players.

If you want your kid to be a decent player who loves the game and understands how to play as part of a team, go elsewhere. If you want the free gear - go to the Revs, that is about all they are good for.

Can we talk about the Revs parents that show up to games in a bunch of Revs gear? It’s laughable in an uncomfortable sorta way.

Why? I’m a Revs 1st team fan and have a jersey or two. If my kid played for Revs Academy, I’d have no problem showing support for the organization. You seem like a bit of a tool.

Think about some of the kids the Revs have cut over the past few years. MANY better than those they kept or brought in. I take the rejects in a game 10 out of 10 times.

With the way Revs played against Oakwood

Not many are D1 ready. Couldn’t get one win against Oakwood U15, 17, 19.. Sad state of affairs.

15 05's rostered, 3 Bolts at least get the narrative right and dont say something that is easily demonstrably false by simply looking at the roster

But for every other team, any sport, is ok? Do you ever watch March Madness? ever watch Little League World Series? I mean, it's literally done at every level at every sport. Even NASCAR. Sorry your kid didn't make it.

At least in March Madness or Little League World Series those teams have had to win to be there. Those teams don’t get slap on an MLS NEXT logo by default. They’ve actually earned their pride. Even the boys don’t wear their Revs gear as much as their parents do.
