....Kids are now leaving the Revs for Bolts to make sure they get recruited.[/QUOTE]

The truth is more likely that player got cut from REVS, tried out for Bolts DA, made team with caveat they could play HS. Most of Bolta DA teams' top players were developed elsewhere, NEFC, VALEO, AZTEC, GPS, etc.

Sorry Bolts parent, Kids have a better chance of getting recruited/seen from an ISL game than Bolts v. Met Oval game.

Bolts seem to be doing just fine. Note this year's Revs class is an exception to the past several years, which have been lackluster.

Wonder how many of the bolts players they developed. The 06 team added 4 gps kids and the u19s multiple. Add in the valeo kids then not many that have been DEVELOPED by the bolts. Let’s call a spade a spade, the bolts recruit and they have a selling point no other mass club has. Do they develop the best players? Not even close

versus the Revs taking players when they're already committed and calling them their own? They've done that every year.

Bolts are doing that also so what’s your point? Neither develop players

Maybe the Revs are cutting the wrong kids because they can’t seem to beat the Bolts.

Revs players are allowed to play high school now too.

What is all this nonsense about “who developed the players? At what ages do kids develop? Answer: all ages. If someone was at GPS through u12 or SuperSoccer stars before that should they get credit? If a kid joins a club and plays there from u13 or U14 through the recruiting period, that is their club, isn’t it? Despite the fact that I am stupid enough to opine here, does it even matter? Development is different for every kid.

The club are recruiting the player at u13-14 because they’ve been developed into a strong player. It’s not about who is a kids club. If you sign a kid at 15 then what happened before that? To take credit for developing a player that was already considered capable of playing at the highest level is a little embarassing. The bolts had kids join this season and they posted them as college commitments, yet the kids had already committed prior to even joining the bolts. Praise yourself for the work you actually do not what others did for you.

All of you moaning about which club develops who!!! I coach at a relatively high level, from my experience, I can tell you that any kids who are playing at the highest level, do most of their own development, they constantly learning by watching games, putting in countless hours on their own to make themselves better each and every day. We (Coaches), are just mentors to help guide, but can we really take credit for a kid going on to the pros?? For some coaches, it may help their Ego, but no, for me, players do most improving and developing on their own time!

At the end of the day, The Revolution youth system's raison d'etre is to develop professional players for the first team. They have not done that successfully for almost two decades. When is it time to revamp the entire program and start with a new youth director and staff? When will this so called legendary coach of ours, Bruce Arena, finally commit to a comprehensive system that is designed to flag all New England domiciled players and funnel them into the MLS pathway? Bryan Scales and staff have shown to be not the people to head this system. Our MLS club should not be competing and/or swapping players with local youth clubs regardless of player' circumstances. Be it wanting to compliment Academy( MLS NEXT) by playing ISL soccer or for what ever reason. Going on to play NCAA D1 soccer for a year or two then entering the draft is not a negative despite what people think. That's when boys grow into their bodies, play with much older "men", etc...The fact that college programs' perception of the Revs youth system is inferior, is very telling.

To the poster who chimed in with the theory on when development happens? Yes, there is a definitive period when technical and tactical training has development qualities on a player who already exhibits Gog given ability in their respective sport. And yes, poor instruction at that critical stage can be detrimental. Scales and company do NOT have the credentials nor soccer pedigree to groom or hone budding players.

Looks like Bolts might pick up 2 more Revs kids.

If any 2022 players are looking to get recruited you could come play for us at Seacoast. The club has helped 5 Class of 2022 players commit to D1 schools with scholarships already.
