The top prep (ISL and NEPSAC) teams don’t play that way. If it was prep kickball, schools like UNC, Duke, Colgate, Ivy’s etc would not be flying their coaches in for games and recruiting some of these players. They would not be able to evaluate them.

What a bloodbath of cuts this year, or did everyone just leave?

Everyone left U17s, but it will probably be a better team as a result.

U 19s walked away too. Revs are a busted flush.

Imagine leaving the Revs and having success in Europe.

I don’t like the new DA Cup format. Everyone in the MLS division should advance to the Winter Cup, not just the top 5 teams in the fall. We’re the better sides.

The 17s are going to be strong this year.

I appreciate your optimism but we’re combining a 10th place U17 team that conceded 50 goals (-13 goal differential) and an 8th place U15 team that only managed to score 27 goals in 22 games. The 2004 players that left scored almost 20 of the team’s goals last year. The 2003s that left scored almost 15 goals. The 2002s that moved up brought another 10+ goals with them as well. I’m not sure where our scoring will come from and I have little to no confidence in our defense. Couple that with a Fall campaign featuring extremely strong MLS squads and I struggle to imagine how we’ll show as “strong.” I predict we go 3-6-2 between now and December. That will disqualify us from the DA Cup and will most likely keep us from having any shot at the Summer playoffs.

With parents like you no wonder the Revs are so sh*t.

Blame the coaches for chasing top players away. I sit quietly on the sideline watching the dumpster fire. Every parent realizes we’ve been placed well beyond our talent level this Fall. It’s going to be a struggle for players and parents.
