when did he move? which age group? move to another DA club? what was the deciding factor? what happened at the REVS during your son's tenure that you were not aware of prior to joining. if he chose an ISL opportunity, well its an apples to oranges comparison. ISL is academics first, soccer if we get to it. in this country, if college is your thing, ISL soccer is better than REVS, BOLTS. BLACKROCK, ETC AND public school soccer. But, if your HS is not highly rated, REVS is best option for soccer. especially when DA becomes MLS ONLY. Good luck to your boy.

Correct. Why should they care? They still own the rights to all the players that leave. When you leave they just replace with another player that they will own the rights too.

Also not everyone leaves because they are unhappy. We are choosing to leave because my son doesn’t feel they see him as a pro. If he doesn’t feel they want him then no need to stay.

Well he does have 2 years of college done so he if he'd motivated he'll finish the other two. We all know the Revs pro track record is abysmal but he was stuck. That really sucks considering what they did to him before, so he must have really wanted it to put up with them.

The Revs treated him like dirt. He should have stayed in school. Then he could have gone to Europe.

My son is an 05 and I’m concerned combining with the 04’s at U17 will scuttle his recruiting. I hope the USSDA goes to single age groups through U19 before we have to deal with it.

You better start looking for alternatives now, just in case. MLS clubs don't want more teams, they want fewer. At least half the squad gets cut when they combine and unlike some pay to play clubs they don't have a team that plays in another league at U16. Not trying to be a downer but it's what happens. The Revs name isn't always positive with coaches either

My son is one of their best players so I’m not worried about cuts I’m worried about the other players hurting his recruiting chances.

I just saw on the 2019 college commitment discussion that the Revs only have 3 Players committed to D1 schools this year. What the heck is going on down at Gillette? GPS has 5 players going D1.

Late to the conversation and I don't have the patience to sift through this entire thread to see if it's been discussed, but aren't players at MLS academies more focused on turning pro than on going to college? (Not asking whether or not Revs is successful at that or not, just a general question.)
