This is what true “elite soccer studs” look like:

      Revs U19 = TOP TEAM = 2 college commitments

Revs U17 = 10th out of 13 teams in the Northeast

Revs U15 = 8th out of 14 teams in the Northeast

There’s a reason the Revs avoid scrimmaging GPS or NEFC top teams.

nope. just a man who wishes this country stop raising about wimpy and spoiled kids.

Aren't you getting ready to write a cursed filled email to your son's principal because his teacher gave him a C+ and he always gets As?

The top GPS 2000 team has 7 committed players. The top GPS 2001 team has 8 committed players. Imagine what the score would be if GPS made a team with those players and scrimmaged the Revolution U19 team? What a massacre it would be!

You'd have a case to make if the Revs weren't so piss poor at development. Talented players flatline, even go backwards, under Revs coaching. Homegrown have found little success

GPS, NEFC and Bolts have all more kids committed than the Revs
How do you explain the difference????
Is it 100% due to soccer level or the other clubs have kids with higher GPA as well???
If you look at the kids background and school town, it would also explain some of the delta...

It is a lot easier to sell a dream to parents with lower income/education...

I'd argue it's more about the kids as students. I think most of the parents at this point realize there is no development going on. The parents of good students have moved them to private schools, and wealthy families also have Bolts as an option. That simply leaves the players who aren't great students from families who can't afford the Bolts. And with the poor development these players are getting at the Revs, they end up having neither the grades nor the soccer components for getting into decent colleges.

                        valid point.

However, isn't there a REVS kid at Dartmouth? I could be wrong (like every argument with wife, she claims).

Rest of world doesn't track players to college. Heard about Korean girls at 12 being put on a professional track. The whole deal - residency, pay, meals. Apparently not so much education but hey, they're soccer players.

I'd like to see the USMNT win a World Cup. Ok, let's qualify first...But if winning requires thousands of kids going into a tough, grinding professional meat grinder from 12 on, I'm fine with that. It's not what I'd do (b/c I suck at soccer) but we can spare a few thousand out of 350 million.
how bout the USMNT scoring 13 goals? in less than 10 years??? hahhahahahahah

Bolts. what a joke and a scam. Ridiculous you consider that a worthwhile club.

The dotards on this site don't understand there's a comparable case to make world class soccer players as college material. they want it all. all the time. every way. Just for little Tripper. Soccer players are made by playing soccer predominantly and logging hours. By the time you're 16, if you're on a pro track, you need to put 40 hours a week into training. period. end of story. Where are any of your dufus' on that? The entire US is so far behind, it's a joke. Tripper's 1% daddios completely run the show and haven't a clue about futbal.

Except for the fact that every graduating DA player is committed to a college.
