Wrong order - clean house first. It's the only way things will improve. I don't agree about practices, the kids are old enough and they need to self advocating. However, that doesn't mean parents shouldn't be able to reach out now and then with questions (within reason). A mid season review should be mandatory.

We don’t pay. We don’t play. No room for helicopter parents at the Revs.

Not talking about helicoptering, just feedback from time to time. Just because you're not paying doesn't mean you're not entitled to know how your kid is doing or what they need to work on. Yes kids need to start advocating, but being kids they don't always hear things accurately. Families should also know if their kid is on the chopping block for next year. With restrictive sub rules you can't always use PT as a measuring stick.

I enjoy watching practice. however, With some parents "coaching" their child from sidelines, yes still done at u15, at practice and games, can see why practice would be closed off.

midseason feed back should be mandatory. if not coach driven, player then parents.

every player, even the top 11 should be allowed to explore other clubs without any fear of lost playing time. clubs bring in tryouts. so players should keep their options opens, especially if they feel they are on chopping block.

I disagree about using PT as a metric - at any club, but especially in the DA, if you're not getting minutes and starts, the writing is on the wall. The 4-6 stars (plus the first-string GK) will start almost every game. They will likely go 90. Then the rest of the team splits the remaining starts and minutes. At many clubs, that means you're largely replaceable - which doesn't mean that you can't get what you want out of the experience but you're not a priority and shouldn't expect any decisions to be made with your interests in mind. You could conceivably play your way into being a star, but that's dependent on someone flaming out AND the coach realizing two mistakes he's made (the flamed out star, and you "developing"), and not many people have the capacity to admit such errors. On top of that, you'd have to develop and demonstrate your merits with limited opportunities - perhaps less rotations in practice, playing out of position, all with the eyes on the stars. Kind of like how difficult it is for a backup QB to win the starting position while the star QB gets all the reps with the first team.

You don’t need to know what happens in practice. Your opinion does not matter. What you believe your son needs to work on is COMPLETELY irrelevant.

If you can’t handle uncertainty you are welcome to take your son somewhere else.

The kids that need to hear what to work on are being told what to work on frequently.

              Go away Mr. Si****ky.

Too bad they aren't being told what they need to work on.

No, but many have been scrambled.

It is completely unacceptable that a fully funded MLS Academy will have 2 out of 3 teams finish below a pay-to-play local club. The entire organization should be embarrassed. Fire the scouts. Fire the coaches. Fire the Academy administration.
