    Group C

    New York Red Bulls 9 3 0 0 7 2 +5

    Orlando City SC 2 0 3 1 (1) 4 12 -8

    This weekend will tell volumes

On another note, MLS would benefit from dropping DA. 80 competitive U16-17 & 18-19 MLS clubs throughout the US should all be residential (full time training, on-site/on-line school). Separate the pro-potential players from the Harvard bound elites pouring $ into personal training and massages for Bip to name drop before his hedge fund managing job upon graduation.

Good luck with that plan. MLS clubs aren't going to get into education on a large scale, nor will most American families trust them to with their kids' education. There's little reward in it for the clubs (not much to be made from home growns) and for most families an unacceptable risk/reward of a possible pro career vs a getting an education. It's how it works abroad but the US just isn't there yet.

Seems like one of the more successful MLS academies has a slightly different perspective re college than the Revs:

“College soccer is the pathway for the vast majority of our players,” said Sounders FC Director of Player Development and Academy Director Marc Nicholls. “We’re delighted that many of them are going to such prestigious schools, some of them on very good academic and soccer scholarships.”

Two of their kids going to Cornell and Harvard.

Sounders U17s won the DA national championship last year.

“The Class of 2019 also has our first graduates from the online program that I enrolled a select group of players in two years ago,”

Sounders, Dallas, Galaxy, Philly, Atlanta - all provide access to online HS for full-time training

Wow, sounders has a " Head of Education and Welfare". Impressive. And zero chance revs would ever have someone for that. . .

Nothing would accelerate the Kraft families plan to drop DA faster than the framework laid out above. Good luck.

The Revs head should be on welfare, not on a salutary to destroy our kids development.

Yes they miss weeks of school only to lose 0-7 and then lecture other people about the value of education

Anyone they want that is who. The U15/U16 true MLS academy teams could drop a beating on top GPS, NEFC, Bolts, SSS 18/19 squads. Will be tough for older teams to find good games close but they will either be recruited by then (and dont really care to travel anymore) or have gone pro.

The Revs U15 team can’t beat the Bolts U15 team. They can fly wherever they choose, but they still can’t escape mediocrity.

Mediocrity is a key part of the business plan. They guarantee it with BS.

When the Revs leave DA for a higher level, every little Leo at the Bolts and Seacoast will jump ship and finally all the best players in the region will be together. A good thing.

Not happening. Seacoast kids move to the west coast to avoid the Revs. Bolts kids know what a schit show the Revs coaching is.
