Surely missing an entire season is the perfect solution. Allowing ad-hoc private school coaches instill their "best" practices. That's what FC Dallas does (NOT), Atlanta (NOT), and Barca and AJAX. oh yes. by all means. Brilliant ISL entitled parents want the cake too - No one glides in front of little Tucker.

Keep American Soccer Sacred and elite!

lol the Revs are not any of those clubs, not even close. Give up an opportunity for a great education to play for the Revs? Parents should have their heads examined.

If USSF wants this issue to go away they should eliminate waivers altogether. No one gets them, ever. But they won't because they want certain kids in the system and know the clubs need private school kids.

I would take almost any ISL coach over a Revs coach.

No, those are the initials of the players and parents that thought making a Revs Academy team meant that they were pro material. AKA, the delusional ones. The ones that left for Europe through their parents small town Portuguese (or other) contacts. Josh Perez (former US National team player left for Fiorentina at age 12, was relegated to Serie C and now is trying to land a starting spot with LAFC in MLS. They think it's easy! Revs brass laugh at these families.

Also it's not like ISL kids are only doing that. They're also playing high level club once prep soccer is over, and many are multisport athletes. More importantly they're getting a high quality education and guidance towards quality colleges. That will serve them better in the long run than playing for the Reves. Virtually no one, especially at the Revs, is going pro

This is New England, home of the prep schools which attract some of the best soccer players in the WORLD. You actually think these players will make the revs team worse?

Now that is funny! Best in the world? Your son was going to be cut from the Revs and that’s why you left. You were the only one that thought he was one of the best in the country. Sorry..
ISL is mediocre at best soccer.

The ISL players I know are wonderful soccer players, within the little bubble of the ISL. outside that they are nothing.

I'm saying ISL and NEPSAC attract *some* of the best players. This doesn't mean ISL and NEPSAC as a whole is better than DA. It's not. These players are fewer than ten and are as good (probably better) than the best players on the current revs teams. Most of them are older (17,18 yrs old) and have the physical strengths (speed, quickness, power), skills, tactics, mentality and game IQ that no ISL/NEPSAC coach can ever take away from them. If Revs recruit those players in the spring they will have more potential "home grown" players to choose from AND make the playoffs (and do well there). Otherwise we will continue to see more mediocrity with scores like 6-0 , 5-1 losses to MLS and strong non MLS (Cedar Stars, PDA etc) Let's not forget the 8-0? (I forgot the exact score but it was up there) loss to Atlanta united last year! What an embarrassment that was.

I'm saying be smart and take advantage of what New England uniquely has to offer. No other place in the country has such a large number of prep schools concentrated in such a small area which offer financial incentives to some of the best players in the world to come here.

I understand your point. There are some solid players spread across the ISL and would be nice to gather them all onto one team (would definitely add strength to the Revs teams). However, saying that "some of the best players in the world" are lured to New England to go to private school is just not accurate. The best youth players are in European academies and would never give that up to go to a private school in America with comparatively inferior coaches, competition and less skilled teammates.

Hahaha!! You're the funny one. Your son will end up playing at Dean College and will major in physical therapy after 4 years with the Revs. He'll also teach gym at your local high school and live in your basement. Prep school kids are going to Princeton, Stanford and Yale and playing soccer there.
