No one at a top institution cares what soccer league you played in unless you're being recruited. All those hours on the road headed to practice and meaningless out of state games doesn't impress them. I'll gladly have my son home and studying during the week rather than sitting in the car. Good luck settling for a school that "wants" your kid to play soccer. I hope he makes the team or he's stuck at a school he settled for. "Elite soccer" rarely leads to elite schools. Maybe it's genetics.

It''s not genetics. It's perspective and priorities. Identical twins might chose different paths based on what matters most to them.

Agree with you that your kid won't be playing college and that maybe it is genetics.

Who cares where the kids play and what league. There are good players in all and many playing in Div. 1. DA, NPL, ECNL, ISL & HS. You have kids from all those leagues playing in Div. 1. Yes, some programs are better than others. Who cares!!! Look at the Commitment thread and you will see. Wish them good luck and move on from this my dad is better than your dad garbage.

How many DAP kids ride the bench in D1. That seems like a great time.

Last year, in NPL, we practiced 3 nights a week, had a game on Sunday. Our D played futsal one night a week. We had 3 tourneys where we travelled away for 4 nights, and a National tourney where we were away for 5.
This year, in DA, we practice 4x a week, game on Saturday. No futsal. We have 3 showcases where we travel for 4-5 nights. In both games we travelled away for games 3-5 hours away, and a smattering of those we stayed overnight. 3 hours in a car means 3 dedicated hours to do homework. She can watch TV in the car, too.
To think you can't do both if you want to is off-base.

You can do both but you can't do academics well that way.
Futsal is coming, just wait.
DA travels during the school week rather than weekends. Good luck with that.

We work differently and it's never been a problem. It won't be now, either. There's only such much license plate game you can play.
School will take precedence, as it should, but there's no issue unless you want it to be.
I'm no Revs fan, but you are really stretching on this one.

Just so you know my son did play DA and your comments about other leagues are just so off base.
