The Revolution Academy needs to make some changes.

Ha. Trainer. My kid sat in *****y 95 traffic for almost 2 hours just to “practice” for not even an hour & a half. Not even 3 times a week. Weather. “Scheduling” issues. No strength training. No conditioning. And no coaching. Line up, work on crosses, scrimmage for a hour. So glad we are gone. What a waste of a year.

So what are your options?

2 hrs of 95 traffic probably means you are far Foxboro...leaving Revs DA only really has the following options:

GPS Red
NEFC
Bolts ECNL
Stars ECNL
Seacoast DA
Bolts DA


But I'm guessing you are north of Boston based on the '2 hrs in 95 traffic'...not a lot of options up there...hope your kid is at a good D1 school.

We don't live that far from Foxboro, but leaving our house at prime commuting time turned the drive into a nightmare. Add in accidents and construction and it was taking longer than it took my son to have "practice" (aka scrimmage while coaches stand around not coaching). Not. Worth. It.

Oh the irony - DA is supposed to be about the training right? Revs are free but you get what you pay for.

The Revs are not a quality standard. Point being this state doesn't have that many good players, regardless of where that one player fits in the mix. Given how little the Revs actually practice there's no doubt he will accelerate at a faster pace abroad. He'll land a decent college spot. He won't go pro.

Makes sense.

I guess we are kind of lucky...been doing club for about 5 years. First coach was awesome. but he moved back to England so we switched clubs. Next two years were a nightmare...almost stopped altogether. Switched one last time for ECNL...the coach is tough but he's fully committed, spends a lot of time with the kids, pushes the boys to play better and he's honest with the parents. Some kids, and parents, can't handle it...they want their kids skills to stand out and they don't want to put in the hard work. My thought is that if my son is going to put in the hard work then the coach and parent should too. Sounds like you are missing the coaches contribution to your efforts and goals.

College admissions has become a real grind. If you don't stand out academically it doesn't matter if you trained with Ronaldo.

Actually the kids with daddy coaches and their teammates gate best overall. Look at Reyna and Leal locally. They’ve both essentially made it big. Their teammates have also done very well.

Hey, DO NOT compare Gio Reyna (who will be training in Germany btw) to that misguided Leal family. Revs did in fact cut them because they SUCK ,and their dad is a delusional blowhard. Please do not make those comparisons again. Those boys aren't going anywhere.

Brad Friedel doesn't sound too enthused or optimistic about the Revolution youth academy. Jay Heaps was the same way. Maybe, just maybe Mr. Burns, can it be Bryan Scales? Now the blame falls on Jasir Charris as well. The scouting, development has been atrocious for years. They do not have the top players in the region!!!!!!
