You're spot on. These announcements are obviously designed to draw more players to the academy and the RDS's. They never pan out and they'll make excuses down the line of how it didn't work out logistically. SEEN IT ALL BEFORE FOLKS!!!! Nothing new here.

On one hand they should be worried; there's many reasons for panic. But, they also know that as a pro club that BDA desperately wants in the system, there will be little if zero or little action taken against them. If they were non MLS they would have been on probation years ago and out by now if they hadn't gotten their act together. But USSF certainly won't eject them and probably won't even put them on probation. The last thing they want is any publicity that a club that should represent the best of the DA system is failing miserably on all measures.

Making some noise? I would think the older teams’ performances this year are making enough noise. The fact that Scales is even being allowed to announce his “vision got the future”, rather than being shown the door, says it all. Nothing is going to change at that academy, even when performance sinks from the status quo mediocre of the past to the current truly abysmal.

Making some noise? I would think the older teams’ performances this year are making enough noise. The fact that Scales is even being allowed to announce his “vision got the future”, rather than being shown the door, says it all. Nothing is going to change at that academy, even when performance sinks from the status quo mediocre of the past to the current truly abysmal.
