The Revolution Academy needs to make some changes.

Fagundez signed when he was 16. Wasn’t at any club for very long.
Caldwell was in the residency program down at IMG before he came to the Revs academy.
Granted, I don’t think the Revs are doing as good a job as other clubs (Red Bulls, FC Dallas) but it’s still the best (and only) way to play against and with other top talent.

Correction, they may play "against other top talent" (by virtue of being in the DA) but certainly do not play with the top. It's been confirmed multiple times, the top players in the region are scattered all over the place and not at the Revs academy.

What I can't get over is that many kids simply flame out. You can blame the team, coach,... but to get to the next level is very difficult and not a sure thing at all. Many players excel when they are younger due to better training or early puberty but things start to level out at 15,16 years old. After that success is hard work and a bit of luck. It is true almost no players in the US will go pro (even MLS), but that is not what most people (ie parents are hoping for). If they do that is great, but you have to have a back up plan.

Why even get involved in the conversation? The kids at the Revs are there because they want to be. You’ll never convince some that the Revs are worth it. Better to just ignore the “noise”.

My kid has been with the Bolts for 5 years now because we wanted him to play DA. He has been to several RDS and we still hope he might make it to the top one day. I don’t understand why some Revs parents are so ungrateful for the great opportunity their boys have. JMO
