The college coach where my son now plays grilled his club and HS coaches about his character, work ethic etc far more than asking about his play (he'd seen him play a few times). Other coaches really didn't do that. That told us a great deal about what kind of program he runs. It's a very good (but not top) program but the other players, coach and staff are outstanding individuals and they have an amazing support network for each other.

You will see some signings later. Maybe even another home grown signing..

So they aren't really signings? Are we talking about regular admissions and hopeful walk ons?

Or d3 players. Technically there's no signing for d3. But most clubs still brag about all their players that will be playing in college, regardless of level.

                  1. How many hours per week should a 16-year-old play?

Where is 4.5 (or 6 if you count the weekly game)? Hmm. Revs Academy must be so far ahead of the curve they don't need to train

How do you train with your team 12 hours a week - that's just ridiculous .

The way my kid gets to 12 hours is 6 with the Revs, 1.5 in the park (or gym in the winter) for pickup games, 1.5 with me and 3 with a private trainer. Variety is the spice of life.

Your kid will be crippled by 40 and Dad will say, " my boy was great with the Revs"! Good luck!

Yes it's likely. Look up femoroacetabulum impingement due to CAM deformity, long term sacroiliac joint issues in former athletes, premature arthritis and the list goes on...

I would rather be crippled by playing too much soccer than by envy. Good luck!

lol if the Revs were doing their jobs you wouldn't need to be spending a fortune on a private trainer. Also, you can only get to 6/week with the Revs if your kid is a starter and plays all 90 minutes. Many players do not. Revs don't practice 4 days like they're supposed to.
