Despite how bad the Revs are, they have good reason to not give a sh**. They're the only MLS game in town and free so they'll still always get enough decent talent to not totally suck. If they were pay to play they'd be cellar dwellers, maybe even gone. They also know USSF will never sanction them. Combine that with owners not giving a sh** about soccer or DA, and there's the current Revs DA program for you.

Some of the parents here obviously seem to believe that their kid is owed something beyond the soccer experience they paid for but they can’t seem to grasp that every single athlete eventually hits a wall and gets discarded. Even the great Tom Brady is going to hit that wall and it will cause him to eventually get discarded. The trick when it comes to an athlete career is to try and forecast that event and beat the inevitable by going out on your own terms. That point may be when your in your 40’s or it may be when you are 14-15. That really comes down to the amount of talent and the desire to be all that one can be. You can always tell though the ones who were asleep at the wheel when their time came because they usually end up posting things like above on anonymous chat sites.

It's worse at Revs because the uBity stars are no longer by high school. Parents can't adjust their expectations so they look for someone to blame. Pretty.funny reading the desperation here. Who are loons sending their kids to Valeo 'Europe'? That's just tok funny!

That's the other funny thing. Some of the Revs parents actually believe that the team their kid is currently on has all the best players from the region, any departures would weaken the team. But we see year after year, there is turnover on all of these teams, and for the most part, they are no worse (or better) with the new additions.

Revs parents need to realize that their player is just one of many very good players in the region, and will just be replaced by another similar player if cut or if they leave for ISL, high school, etc. If you feel your kid isn't developing properly at the Revs, which it sounds like many parents do, by all means, move him to a program you feel will be a better fit and will help him progress. You'll be happier and at the same time you'll be giving a similar player an opportunity to work with the Revs, which may work out well for him.
