Call them crazy but plenty of families have moved the whole family unit abroad. Their choice. It won't be for everyone, or even feasible for everyone because of jobs, finances, visas etc. Many families do similar for other sports.

Kids are going to keep leaving this country. It's the only way.

Not necessarily but for sure moving to another state is also an option, to an MLS club that actually knows what it's doing. If more clubs start soon residential programs that will become a viable option for families and broaden player pools well beyond their geography.
