Oh that's why? Sure. The other explanation is that their parents are lunatics.

Or just calling out unfair treatment by a distant and out of touch group who need to make a change? We are not the first MA citizens to revolt.

Massachusetts is already way too far gone to be insulted.

Or they were born with lunatic parents and won't enjoy and grow with a normal high school experience that all teenagers should. Very unlucky.

I agree that these particular parents are lunatics. I don't agree that not having a "normal" high school experience is that bad.

Social development from 14-17 is actually more important than anything they learn in the classroom. Or online.

Are you saying that a typical U.S. high school is where that should happen?

No, they should go to a country where they don't even know the language and go to a fake high school.

I already said I thought the parents were lunatics but no for avoiding the typical high school.

If the kids can learn the language that would be of value.

If the school is fake that would not help.

Appropriate social development is not an option given an ocd and a cuckold as examples. The portwogays should enjoy this lot and keep them permanently

Do you think they will live in a bubble and never meet kids abroad and develop friendships? Absurd. And many (definitely not all) homeschool kids are very well adjusted socially. It is what you make of it. Time will tell if these families succeed at it or not

Fake HS no. But learning another language is fantastic and not enough Americans do. Most Europeans all speak multiple languages. Our kids get a few years of rudementary Spanish and call it a day. I lived abroad two different times for work. Living and working(or school) in a different culture is instant immersion and you pick it up quickly because you generally have to.

A typical US High School (especially Massachusetts) is the very last place any decent parent should allow their child to go unless it is a last resort and even then they should make sure what daily perversion was taught without their knowledge so they can discuss it before Billy comes home one day in a dress insisting that his name is Cindy and he will sue you if you call him anything else.

...and like the folks who went to Portugal, I couldn't get far enough away from the Revs or the bitter parents who think the Revs have the tiniest clue about coaching soccer or developing players.
