My EU passport may prove otherwise. We have several family friends whose children were accepted into an Academy. None were able to sustain what it requires. The odds are most certainly in favor of my assumption.

Agreed the odds are slim for just about anyone. But that doesn't mean that staying with the Revs is a players' best option either.

What happened? They used their EU citizenship to play at a club and then were cut? Then what happened? They must have improved while in EU.

Either way, it probably benefited the players to go to EU. No?

They were born there, were accepted, and were eventually cut. All of them. They were all very good players.

That's different than an American going over to train and then coming back to play college.

Duh. Academies make cuts, even to locals. There's a reason it's hard to make it professionally. Don't worry - they'll get a full ride to a US school because they're still better than most US players

Now, what he does with the training remains to be determined. At the least, he will be recruited to play in college. The Revs tout commitments as an 'accomplishment', so why not tout that their training resulted in a player playing to Europe?
Relax with the " he already succeeded" stuff. Like someone said previously, he's never killed it in US Academy soccer, never has had national team duty (other than a camp invite). Never played one single solitary International match with the any US Youth team. His over zealous helicopter dad made some calls to Portugal and was willing to yank his son out of school. What a crock of sh*t at any attempt to hype JF here. He doesn't have it. DOES NOT HAVE IT!

One more thing, the Revolution are very well aware that he does not have it.

Some major league projection in that post.

Isn't he playing 'international' matches in Portugal?

Maybe he wanted more training than US Academy offered. Maybe he wants to kill it but felt he'd never get there with US training. Besides, watching US MNT is so painful. All the mini-me USDA teams are just as awful. Who's actually good here? Talk about a crock.

Does not have it according to Revs. Sounds like a compliment to me.

USDA? United States Department of Agriculture? Portugal will give him great training if he's on cow pastures.

                              Not projection, truth.
