Report back when the college process starts.

Agree. Leave please and let us know how this all works out in three or four years. Ba-bye!

Whether or not a parent is engaged in the child's education is what is most vital. A child left in a Boston suburb school system without a parent being actively involved in their education is vastly inferior to any other school, including the one's discussed here, or I should say school where a parent is involved in the child's education.

Most of what United States Public Schools teach is garbage so I would feel very bad for any kid that doesn't have a parent at home to teach the child exactly what's garbage and exactly what's valuable. It is somewhat analogous to parents thinking they can send their kids to the revs Academy and they're automatically going to turn out to be the next Leo Messi. If a parent is not directly engaged also with that child's development, then that player is going nowhere.

Helicopters for life? Will mommy and daddy "engage"their college coach if they make it that far?

None of the information being passed around this site is correct.

That sounds like a great experience. My son is jealous. Why wouldn't he be?

Just hope he goes back. Man, Bruce Arena is an awful judge of ability.

Why wouldn't he be jealous? Breezing through a sub-par curriculum is like being on an extended vacation. Soccer first while education is a distant second, if not third. It's a teen's dream. When all is said and done I hope the positive memories abroad outweigh the realities of not playing pro, and potentially a middling collegiate career.

A Brown professor is not going to put education on a back burner. On the other hand, if they won't play pro, what's wrong with playing in Europe now, when they can?

What's the point of playing in Europe?
