I watched a recorded stream of Revs U18 vs. Weston recent game.

The most common number of connected passes from either team? 1. then a give away.

Just awful. And I'm sure it's not just them.

And I definitely should not have watched it after watching Germany's U21 beat Chile's top team to win the Confederations Cup. Same German team toyed with Mexico who we were lucky to tie recently.

I pulled my son out of academy soccer (not Revs) because after discussing what went on at practice too often, we concluded nothing constructive was being taught. I plan on spending more time with him one on one and enjoying High School. I am so certain I made the right choice.

Sir, wait till you see your first High School game your son is playing in. There will be a HOLY S--- moment where you might crap your pants. In between academy years my son played on his High School team, which was great with his friends and they had decent team, but the whole idea is not to get hurt. You think you are not learning anything now? Just wait. I guess it depends where you want to end up but at Academy Showcase/Playoffs my son was contacted by 20 Plus colleges. You think you will find that at a high school game? The D1 coaches I talked to don't bother going to high school games, it is a waste of time. Good Luck.

We all know college coaches don't go to high school games but the do go to showcases and hold ID clinics. We all know high school soccer is less than optimal, but for many the positives outweigh the negatives. We also know that not all DA clubs are that great and that DA isn't the only path to colleg and soccer.

It's the professional route that is the issue with the local DA's. It's not enough to practice 4.5 hours/week.

Adding one more practice a week won't make you a professional or even that much of a better player. At U15 or so international players are playing and training far more than what we do here. Also, you have to the drive to work on your own, A LOT. Then there's the coaching...

Congrats to the players but let's not get carried away in praising the Revs. If they can keep these players and turn them.into better players in the next 2-3 years then heap all the praise on them you want. But talent acquisition isn't coaching .
