Top Drawer Soccer is about three bloggers who think they have the authority to rank soccer players based on "who knows what". They now have 4 and 5 stars placed on U14 players, and a lot of them, and the highest level U18 USSDA starters heading to college as 2 stars. Someone needs to explain a good rating system. If this system is the way they want to go, then a four star 14 year old can look forward to having their stars lower each year. It happened in our DA club, with some of our best starting players being dropped to 2 star at the top of their careers, and no justification. And they rank two star players higher than three stars. Maybe they can just suck it up and increase those two star players....why wouldn't they.
If they read this here is a good system:
1 Star: Where everyone starts
2 Star: A really good U13/14 player, or average player in the older years.
3 Star: Younger National team player, or starting DA/ECNL u15/16 player, non starting ECNL/DA 15/16 player
4 Star: Starting DA/ECNL 18 player, really good premier league/national team player
5 Star: National Team starter at U17 and up and high level bound Div 1
Why is this so hard....I realize it leaves out ECNL/NPL and really good high school players, but that can be fit.

Corrected this:
1 Star: Where everyone starts
2 Star: A really good U13/14 player, or average player in the older years.
3 Star: Younger National team player, or starting DA/ECNL U15/16 player, non starting ECNL/DA 18/19 player
4 Star: Starting DA/ECNL 18/19 player, really good premier league/national team player
5 Star: National Team starter at U17 and up and high level bound Div 1
