Even if true kids are better off getting a great education, and they will still have excellent soccer and opportunities to play in college. A professional path is not likely for almost any DA player and even less so with the Revs.

The prep kids will do just fine.

Just points to what a rudderless ship US soccer is. In theory the academy idea is a good one but as constructed it's accomplishing nothing.

It's a cultural thing so I do expect people here to understand. However, I totally agreed the current options here in NE sucks. Especially the Revs.

Best thing for the Revs Academy right now would be to completely bottom out, the sooner the better, and it looks like they may be headed that way. Only then will action be taken to clean ship and totally renovate the current system. Someone might even put in the time to think of an innovative approach. If they just keep limping along with halfway decent results, as they are now, nobody over there will bat an eyelash. "Good Enough" seems to be their motto.

Co workers son plays for the Columbus Crew academy and their experience has been across the board incredible. Facilities, team and individual coaching, communication and setting parental expectations - all areas where Revs can drastically improve upon.
It's frustrating because the Revs academy can be so much more than it is and we really don't have a viable alternative. Making the most of it, but remain very underwhelmed.

Some strong recent boys showings for U20 and U17 in qualifying for their respective World Cups. U20s won their final. U17 made it finals losing in PKS. U15 team just won Torneo Delle Nazioni and going undefeated against European teams.
The nucleus of these teams are DA players some who have moved on to Europe and some that are still playing here in US
