I train my U10 town team 2 hours a day 5 days a week. Revs are pitiful.

I was thinking more like the top two or three players from the older age groups, maybe 5-6 kids. But, you're right, that's a little too much to ask of the Krafts to spend on soccer.

That is about all the Revs Academy have accomplished with their great development. There is of course "world class" players Fagundez and Caldwell but they were developed elsewhere. Chris Tierney was an ISL player. Those three above mentioned boys are dreaming if they think they can crack a first division European squad.
It was 2012, De Bona and Tchen left for Malaga and Copenhagen trials. They both bombed. Felix had a uneventful playing career at BU. They are both rec players now. The current Revs players should pay attention.

lol would you want to walk into Kraft's office and tell him they should spend that kind of money on youth soccer players?! omg I'd pay to see his reaction.

Of course the reality is that very few have the skills to cut it abroad. Then there's the passport/visa issue on top of that. But you get how some families get frustrated given the lack of options in the area and the fact that the Revs aren't putting any effort into the program. In the end parents want what's best for their kids. The smart ones will to prep - get a great education, still get recruited to good colleges. That's the path to take around here.

The "top" 2-3 players? Based on what for god's sake?

I think a lot of players would like to have had a college career that "uneventful."

Major fuk up career decisions, probably made by his over zealous parents. Like in the majority of cases. Where is good 'ole Felix now? Over the Hill league? He was hoping the Revs would throw him a bone and select him in the MLS SuperDraft but once you f the Revs, there's no mercy.

And, once Malaga cut him from their youth team, he won States with Somerville High. Highlight of his career. FC Boston City will take him, they take anybody.

Or the Rhode Island Reds. NPSL is a joke of a league.

Absolutely correct. The Revs have accomplished nothing to change the soccer culture in this region. Education is paramount here. The New England prep schools have even become a viable pathway to professional soccer.

I'm sure it's fun to play in a league regardless.

Soccer is about talent, opportunity and loyalty. All three have to be aligned. DeBona made some poor choices.
