Why ? For one player (being optimistic- zero is more than likely) who may go pro?

No wonder these kids do dismally with getting into good colleges . All are practice players for nothing gained. Shame on USSDA !
GA Cup is not a USSDA event. It's under the MLS umbrella.

Nothing wrong with missing school as long as they take their assignments with them. Lots of down time in an event like this to study.

Junior year is a crucial year for these kids. They not only have to do missed work but have to play catch up when they get back. win-lose situation. Soccer over academics- the US Soccer way!

The Revs allot not more than a couple of hours over the entire week for studying. Most players don't even bring school work with them.

I don't think it's nearly as critical as you suggest.

Let's not forget junior year GPA is very important for college. Oh and need time to prepare for those pesky SATs and ACTs !! Poor decision to have the GA cup during school week.

I'd say realistically speaking there are about 4 or 5 good prospects on that team, including the young one.

Ussf doesn't care about academics or 99.8% of thr players in the system.

Act was today so that's one round missed (most kids need to take them 2-3 times). Revs all but tell you they don't care about testing. You better be at the games

Speaking of academics, the young kid (2002), is leaving for a very good Prep school in the Fall.
