Seems to me that the 2017 Revs placements were impressive- fairly many high-level, non-local, D1 programs (which likely would not have happened without DA). If that was the goal for those kids, it would appear that things worked out. I would imagine those kids would say it was "worth it" (not knowing at this time how playing time at the next level will work out) given the sacrifices they made, but hard to measure what they gave up in skipping HS soccer.

Different poster but I remembered the Revs list not being that solid last year. Obviously the Bolts graduated a huge number; not sure why Seascoast wasn't on the list I saw from the 2016 but I know it gets changed/this isn't complete.

What I find more interesting is many times I'd see below - DA players at the same schools as non DA. That's where the need for DA for certain players is placed into doubt. Are you going to get a spot at UVA without DA? Probably not. But others? Clearly you can

you must not be on here often - a poster tracks all the players (he can find) on these threads each year. It's much more comprehensive

The stated point is that the 2017 Revs list has "fairly many high-level, out-of-state D1 placements" - none of the other placements cited demonstrate the same thing.

Anyone have a list showing minutes played by former Revs players that just played their freshman year of college ball? Even just a couple of players.

From the most updated list on the commitment thread for D1s. If you're not DA then prep school sure helps.

That may be true but UNC (1 commit) is the only good academic school in that "high level D1 out of state" list!! No offense to the players but I wouldn't want my kid to go to Louisville, Indiana or michigan state ( have u seen their acceptance rate!).

Show me a high D1 AND decent academic school and NOW you're talking !!

=>Stanford , wake forest , notre dame ... I'll even take Maryland , Clemson and UW!!

Probably the best academic (except for Ivies which is a different animal) would be Duke - one committed player is DA, the other isn't but is also prep school.

                          It's UNC Charlotte, not UNC.

Dartmouth is ranked #36 on HeroSports.com. Does that qualify for "high D1 AND decent academic school"? What about Harvard (not out of state, but ranked #23)?

ugh Charlotte is not a good academic school.

Dartmouth and Harvard are too local . The idea put forth is that the revs sends the most players to high D1 non local schools. Well that's true but the academics of those schools leave a lot to be desired.

                              Duke is ranked #93 - I wouldn't call that high D1

Revs sent 2 players to UVA last year.
