Another example is Caio, who spent his formative years between 8 and 16 years old playing town soccer on Nantucket. Not exactly a soccer hot bed. No expensive, fancy club. No nation wide travel. But he grew up in a soccer family. And he played whenever possible, similar to Fagundez. Somewhere on T-S there are links to videos of him juggling in his families cellar.

Imagine how much better he'd be if the Revs or Bolts got a chance to "develop" him. ;)

Revs U16's beat Orlando SC (another top MLS program). Good showing at the GA Cup. Proves all the Revs haters who are consumed with wins and losses during the regular season with absolutely no clue as to what they are talking about.

Typically the "Revs haters" are parents whose sons either didn't make the Revs teams or were cut by them and ended up on the Bolts. That is pretty much it.

Someone should clue the Revs coaches in on this because they look like someone kicked their dog every time they lose to the Bolts.

Did you see that the US u20 team lost to a 10 man Panama team? My 'hate' is not just with the Revs, it's US soccer and MLS training. Revs can beat all the academy teams in the country but it still doesn't change the fact that in this country, and the Revs are a perfect example, at the end of the day, we produce an inferior soccer product. Especially given our resources and the amount of kids playing the game. WE DO NOT TRAIN ENOUGH OR PROPERLY.You are the ignorant one with blinders on.

Yeah looked like tough going for Orlando. They got blown out by by both Red Bulls and Philly Union. All in all a good start to the spring for the 16's. Go Revs.

I think with size of our country (especially relative to CONCACAF) the problem isn't so much the pool of player talent or even "development" up to a point/age. Rather, I suspect our system of coaching and selection has too many flaws. Some are obvious in that USSF have a lot of ground to cover and scout. But more problematic is that the coaches here kind of must not know what they're doing. They select for size, speed and athleticism which then wilts under mental and physical pressure.

All the recent "success" stories of nations developing or revamping their teams share a common denominator: massive investment in coaching: numbers and quality. Germany, Belgium, Iceland and to lesser degrees England (I know, right?) and France.

looks like a fourth revs '03 was added to the pool of 36.

His brother might actually be the better player? At least he was at Valeo.

Revs don't play him. Scouts no see him. The way the ball bounce.

Four players from the Revs team that tied the Bolts team? Sweet Jesus.

Surprised GPS doesn't have 5 players attending.

This has been talked about in many TS threads for years now but for the newbies, here you go:

As long as Bryan scales is running the academy, the revs will always have several players in the national pool. It has nothing to do with merit. It is pure corruption . Tony LePore, US head of scouting and Bryan go way back. It's been this way for years. If you're lucky enough to be liked by that incompetent buffoon BS, you will be all set . Absolutely has nothing to do with proper scouting of players. Don't worry -most colleges are aware of corruption in DAP clubs( bolts are just as bad) so if college is the end game it doesn't matter in the long run.
