He just about fooled every defender and goalkeeper throughout the event though. That kid plays like he's possessed.

I saw this on a few teams I watched. One player that was clearly above the rest of the team. Only saw one boys team (2002) and one girls team (2003) that seemed overall even and all very good. One 2004 boy was superior to all the other players in his age group. Quite a few very talented young kids who will be fun to watch as they get older.

Does anybody care about Futsal? I suppose it is nice to do something in the Winter, but really the energy here spent on writing about it is comical.

Doing well at Futsal proves one thing, they are good at Futsal.

You are missing the point, great players/athletes can play soccer and still be good at regular soccer. That is to say, the current U14 and below can play as much Futsal as they like (hope they don't get injured before the Spring season starts) but that is not likely to help at all.
As a matter of fact it is likely to hurt the regular season since
1. The space is very small
2. Encourages lots of cutesy, I mean creative plays.
3. The problems the younger Revs teams have, is playing as a team (ie passing and developing plays)

Futsal is the opposite of these things.

Futsal is fun diversion, but doesn't translate to the real game.
