I like the fact that they treat the players as young adults and mostly exclude the parents from the equation. It is teaching our 13 year old to make up his own mind about how serious he wants to be about soccer rather than trying to live up to his Mom's or my expectations. Of course we do a lot of driving for him, but he is proud that he has earned the free coaching, travel, equipment etc. The Revs is working out very well for our family. Feel free to laugh if it makes you feel better, but it won't change our mind.

The U13 and U14 age groups are too young for the Rev model. Be thankful that the 2004 age group remains allianced.

By 13, kids require significant independence for their development, especially in organized environments, (not by deserting them to their own devices at home or roving the streets). Back to soccer, the Revs provide autonomy , high training level many teens are thrilled about (and to some -a welcome escape from these hovering oppressors).
Yes, I am a shrink. We all hope these folks get their wish to stay closer to home next year.

The parents continually relate worthlessness without their presence and this proves true because their children do not perform well or constantly create problems hence making their own fears come true.
