Agreed, my kid loves it at the Revs.

Former Revs parent here but not the poster - yes he graduated and played successfully for the Revs and plays in college now. The Revs are an almost necessary evil (really what choices are there in the area, and if your kid aspired for top D1 DA is all but required these days). I saw plenty of players with promise flat-line and others get the life sucked right out of them when we were there. Reading this thread it's clear it's still going on. Sad because it could be so much more.

The DA is a mirror reflection of their pro team. Crappy soccer. Those kids that made the DA teams are very good players however there are too many me me me players on the teams and the sad part is the coaches encouraged that type of behaviors. Go on YouTube and watch their games and you'll see what I mean.

They talk to no one, not the parents, players or one another. No enthusiasm, no passion. Lifeless zombies. Just a bizarre environment that's sucking the passion our kids have had for this game for so long. The kids have never met the first team at all, they don't look happy and are quickly losing interest. I hear their out of State trips are like concentration camps, they are relegated to their rooms for hours on end while other teams are encouraged to watch other teams compete. If I were to grade these nitwits, it'd be a an F.

You do realize that this a voluntary relationship and it could be terminated by either party at any time?

Really? Voluntary? And go where exactly?

The USSDA league is what we chased. Which other league compares? Boys ENCL? NPL?
Been there, done that with NPL. Not good, ECNL will be no different. What's left? MIAA? ISL? All sh*t.

You surprised? Who would expose themselves here? You're such a genius.

I can't vouch for the authenticity of the post, but my observations over a similar period of time dovetail nicely with those of the poster.

players flatline for all kinds of reasons. It's a cop out to blame the coaches for that. Only a few players make it to D1 schools and an even tinier fraction go pro. This isn't FC Dallas where the entire soccer population in the dallas/ft worth area lives and breathes soccer. people in new england favor education much more that the slim pickins a soccer career would provide.

Very true. Even most of the top kids around here don't live and breathe soccer like other areas or countries. The Revs coaches have to work with what they get, and generally do a great job.
