You can't make this stuff up. You really can't. The Revs are inept and adrift.

They realize that all you hear are crickets at Empower Fieldhouse. All the top talent has left for better opportunities elsewhere. They're scared and with good reason.

Millions of dollars are at stake here. Not some measly $10,000 "charity" payment to a club. Nice try Revs, you cheap losers. US Soccer on the phone with Burnsy now!!! Hahahaha!!

I wouldn't hire Burns or Scales to be custodians at my company. They'd get the whole trash barrel emptying concept wrong. Combined IQ with those guys, a whopping 30!!

They probably think it makes them look better to USSF - "Look! See what we're doing! We know we don't have U12 (despite a mandate). We know we don't have 4 days a week (mandated). We know half our players leave within two yeras and we can't develop our way out of a paper bag. But we're really, really trying. Honest Injun'" "

US Soccer won't buy the "scholarship" money to clubs as a reward. Burns thinks he can redefine solidarity payments.

USSF won't do a thing. First, they're too busy trying to tamper the smoldering GDA embers before it erupts into a full on dumpster fire. Second, there have been complaints about the Revs for years and they've never done anything. It's an MLS club and USSF can't afford bad news or losing them altogether. The Revs will get a quiet spanking, be told not to do it again, and that will be it.

Right. The Revs would be happy if USSF took their academy away from them, an end to lots of headaches and money being thrown down the drain. USSF won't do this, because then the other MLS clubs that are not fully committed to developing their own players will try to follow suit and dump their academy programs. Many MLS clubs just don't want to be in the youth soccer business and would rather spend the money on acquiring players developed elsewhere than having to do the extra work required to develop their own. There are a couple clubs doing it right, but they are putting a ton of effort and money into it, so that it actually has a chance to pay off. Doing it halfway (or a sixteenth of the way, as in the Revs case) is truly a waste of time and money for everyone involved.

We're new to the area. When do the New England Revolution Academies hold tryouts?

There are usually tryouts in June. RDS training is a better way to get a look, if you really are new to the area and your kid is good.

If they're interested you get invited to a practice. June cattle calls are mostly for show.

Their defense is getting weaker and weaker. Seacoast or Bolts (I get them mixed up) beat Empire 4-0.

Revs 03's have a problem with defense and it getting worse. Those players will be let go.

Revs have a history of having young NT invites that are one-and-dones.

One plays up all the time and we know how *that* team fares defensively.
