lmao with that one. Revs, and DA in general, evaluate a tiny fraction of the soccer playing population. The ones they look at have already been filtered through our costly pay to play system. Non MLS clubs get the MLS discards that can afford to pay to play.

Right, if only they scouted the many inner city parks where disadvantaged and hungry play street soccer all day long. That would fix the problem.

Urban myth, there are no "inner city soccer crazed kids in the GBA. Dominicans and Puerto Ricans don't like soccer. We've talked about this ad nauseum.

Lots of cold South American kids in the park wishing their dads would let them go home and play XBox

Daddies are not around and haven't been for years. Mommies are raising them while working two full time jobs.

I actually think we'll see much better quality from the younger age groups next year, at least from the 2004s. The 2003 group shown in the video were obviously not well scouted and were chosen either due to politics or, as someone else mentioned, the best out of top Got Soccer point teams.
With the U12 DA clubs now filtering kids for the Revs, their scouts can still be lazy, but able to identify much better talent.

Much more motivated also, playing without enthusiasm at that level is ridiculous.

The2003 age group is talented. They just need a better coach.

Not the coach'es fault they don't play with enthusiasm. They need parents who aren't blaming someone else for their own pissy attitude that they project into their kids. Mentality positive, skilled players will stick, not yours.

That's the crux of it. No kid is going to be excited to play for a coach and with teammates who their parents are constantly tearing down in front of them. That attitude just ends up hurting the kids in the long run. Parents need to be aware of just how influential they are on their kids.

The Portuguese love soccer. Tons of Lil Ronaldos around in GBA

Let's not forget the Brazilians. I hear they are pretty good too

Parents can be an issue, so can the coaching. Sometimes there can just be a perfect storm of bad things happening all at once. A good coach or organization will recognize it and try to change things - either change the coaching, having a DOC supervise more regularly, telling parents to get in line...And don't forget these are still pretty young kids. If they were 17 it'd be one thing, not 12-13 year olds. They do still need to have fun once in awhile
