Interesting point you make. As a matter of fact, there wasn't one single DAP player on the 2016 Friars roster. Vang did not have to languish and be tortured on the Revs for 4 years. A great example of how things don't always work out.

Fwiw, Lowell (finished ranked 14th in div. 1) had 5 or 6 local players that either started or got substantial minutes. None played DAP.

I have nothing but admiration for KV and wish him well, but the Revs program did nothing but retard his growth. He should have some fun and play high school for a year before college. It would help him to have the Revs shackles taken off.

It makes sense. It's local and a 55% acceptance rate.

"What should he do?" to become a professional athlete? Let me see, my guess is there's nothing that you can do for him that hasn't been predetermined already from superior genetics, God given ability and drive and determination. Those are all variables that you as a parent, have absolutely no control of. The Revs Academy or the USSDA will not guarantee that and 4 years of college soccer in the NCAA will not either. If your son has been determined to be in the top 1% of the region's age group. By that I mean, independently determined, (not by you and your wife) but by coaches, peers and the like, throughout his youth playing career, then there's a possibility with the right opportunity, to become a pro soccer player. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I have noticed recently that certain players have begun to do some odd things on the field. Maybe they know they're leaving or that they need additional training for a camp or tournament. The theatrics are embarrassing, I mean, impressive!

4 1/2 hrs. a week. Get it right. 3 days at 1.5 each. And that is at some really crucial development ages!! The Revolution have no interest in developing players for the first team, none!! When they have positional voids, easier to pick up a young unknown Tony Delamea from a 2nd tier obscure Euro league and hand him an HP1 visa. These marginal European players are jumping at the chance to come to the United States. The upside is as youngsters, they have in fact trained a whole lot more than 4 1/2 hours a week.
