For crying out loud the Revs U18's were dominated by Seacoast last year simply because Seacoast hadthe best 4 or 5 players on the field. ...and this is no endorsement for Seacoast. They lost those players and now they are awful. Bottom line is academy coaches and training do very little. It provides a stage for players who work hard on their own to show their accomplishments. But don't kid yourself and think the Revs coaches have anything to do with it. When do you think ZH (who is the only true product of the Revs) will see his first meaningful minute in the MLS?

Plenty of Revs parents trash the Revs as well. They turn talent into mediocrity stew. But they're the one MLS game around so players will gravitate to them. The MLS affiliation and free tuition is a big draw. Their lackluster record speaks for itself

People who've been over-involved in their son's sporting edeavors since the beginning become very disgruntled when they're shut out of the process and their kids ride the pine.

The reality is that for both my kids and all the strong players I've seen, they actually train and play 6-7 days, whether on their own, with a town team, with supplemental training, etc. Fitness work is also a priority from u13+, so even when they aren't touching a ball or practicing, they are working on strength and conditioning.
What are the DAP rules around training outside if the club and what do the Revs offer outside of the 2-3 team training sessions?
