      LOL that's funny.

Great information! What's the point? Countless "commit" threads have highlighted that there are generally 2 paths on the boys side to college soccer from MA - 1) USSDA , 2) NPL/Club (often GPS/NEFC) and HS / Prep School (with a higher percentage from Prep School than HS).

Sure - A higher percentage of USSDA kids go on to play college soccer, but a similar overall number take the Club / Prep route due to the larger number of players playing club / HS.

Kids in Philips Andover and Milton go on to Ivy schools, kids who play DA becomes coaches passing on their experience to the next generation.

a bit of the "chicken or the egg question". a lot of boys choose da precisely because they want to play in college and currently that is the best (but not only path) to do so. the other path is much tougher as there isn't as strong a national platform option like ecnl for girls, just regionally varied pockets of strength like certain npl leagues. for some boys playing in prep school - the other current path - isn't an option because of grades, money or personal choice. will epnl change that dynamic? no one can predict but it will be fun to watch it unfold (fireworks for sure no matter how it goes)

At most prep schools, kids have to play for their school. With your logic, serious kids do not go to private school. D1 rosters tell you otherwise.

Hockey is still for the elite players in new the England preps, on the other hand soccer is far from elite. You need to really kill it there to even have a shot at Division 1 collegiate play. Even then, colleges coaches know fully well the level of play there.

RTD players are disproportionately represented among NE prep players going D1.

                    What's RTD?

Yes - you do need to kill it in Prep Soccer to make D1 college. That makes sense ... Only a small percentage of players make it to D1. Are you suggesting that players who ride the bench in DAP make it to D1?

Players who "ride the bench" in DAP don't last beyond two seasons. A very select group of players stick through U18 in DAP. As another poster said, the DAP released players play high school and usually dominate.

An African group that sends African student athletes to prep schools the United States. These kids are not really footballers, just poor athletic boys. The prep schools are lining up to fill their International acceptance quotas with them.

Try to keep up, serious players do not choose prep schools for the soccer piece. The educational aspect is a different component.

Agreed. "Serious" soccer players - i.e. those for whom soccer is their #1 priority should choose DAP. That does not mean that almost as serious soccer players (e.g., those for whom academics is their #1 priority, with soccer #2) must forego college soccer. Those that have the talent can certainly play Prep/HS and High-level club and still play college soccer. The commit threads demonstrate this (and no, not all are RTD).

If a player gets released from DAP (or leaves of their own choice), then dominates HS, and goes on to play college soccer. Wouldn't that indicate that playing DAP is not the only path to college soccer?
