The 02's and 03's have not developed chemistry as they are both largely comprised of new players who have never played together.

The same can be said for just about every team in the state due to the age group changes. Thanks Captain Obvious.

Isn't there a large contingent of Valeo players on the 03's?

Yes but you can't get much done from the bench.

MLS clubs will be fine because they are free and generally get the better talent. It's the non MLS clubs that will be sweating

Hmm...so they have players from NEFC mucking up the chemistry? I would think that the two best teams in the state (at the time of recruiting) would be able to smash any other academy team. Too many NEFC stars?

Honestly, why do you think this? What's the benefit to a new and unproven league? What's the draw? It screams b-teamers to me.

You need to pass the ball...like to a teammate.. to have chemistry.

As opposed to what the non MLS teams are now, which pretty much is the B program in DA? Why give up HS for the B team? How many years into boys DA with little to show for it? Each year the number of foreign players on college programs - all of them not even just the top ones - keeps going up. The odds of playing in college for boys keeps shrinking. Plenty of kids will opt for the chance to play still very good soccer without having to give up HS soccer or other sports. It may be the B league but it will take enough of a bite out those non MLS clubs that they'll feel it.

not the op but I agree with him/her

Dangerous bet if you look at the rosters of any colleges. Many more DAP players than the occasional club players.

If you can't pick your head up from dribbling the ball and find a teammate to pass to by U12/13, you shouldn't be playing soccer, never mind DAP. Seriously, it is the simplest thing: are you in the attacking third? Yes. Do you have space to take or only one defender to beat? Yes? then dribble. If you answered no to any of these, pass.

22 players on a full-sized pitch and some think dribbling is still the answer. Know what we call those players? Cyclops's, because they are playing with one eye and it's only on the ball. Guaranteed turnovers as well.

That is the perfect description!! There is definitely too much dribbling and fiddling with the ball on my son's DAP team. And then they lose the ball, eeeevvery &^% time!

And there's plenty of DA players that aren't on college rosters at all. Some don't care because the odds are low and getting lower all the time. Unless you're a starter at DA - especially at a non MLS club - you have to question if skipping all HS sports is worth it.

You have to question whether paying high club fees is worth it. Most of those kids never see anything but club soccer or intramural sports in college.
