Which happens often enough. DA is the lowest on the field priority list. It's like being back on town rec and getting bumped for a football team

Yep, norm is more like 2.5.

The U18 team is not a team that competes in any World Cup programs. If any of these kids were that good they would be playing on the U20 team. The purpose of this team and the U19 team is to try and identify kids that might be good enough to play on the real NT squads. Certainly a good accomplishment but need to be realistic. Go watch these two play in the Fall and judge if they are NT caliber. The forward scored 5 goals all last year and was not even dominant when playing at age. That being said, the pathetic Revs seem to be determined to make him the next homegrown. Hope he likes the bench since he can join ZH on it. DJ was excellent two years ago but not anymore. Most have caught up and passed him. Not a reliable defender and thinks he is capable of taking everyone on one on one. He then loses the ball and leaves his defense to cover for the mistake.

Agreed it is an accomplishment, however, a lot of kids rotate through that system, many times one and done. Like you said - if the Revs start churning out true NT team players that'd be a story

            100% not true.

That's also true. They also get bumped for any event that pays for the field house.

This makes them incredible players for 3 hour/week training.

How did your Son do against them in practice? I would say they're developing as players just fine especially if they're getting called into these camps to play against some of the best in the world. DAP and NT players make tremendous sacrifices and should be commended for their efforts. Since when is the definition of success a straight trajectory up? It doesn't and so your hate runs so deep that you need to come on and trash innocent hard working kids for their accomplishments? Stupid and Sad

The only Challenge the Revs have with some final year players is how to make them better when there isn't anyone equal or better to keep them challenged. Holds true for all clubs but especially with a group of NT players. I'd expect the Revs know how to handle it.

I hope they do too however now we must cheer on the current group and hope they can keep it up and keep advancing.

I just watched the first 20 min. of this game and the Rev's are down 2-0 on two very weak goals. The second goal is a great shot but the lead up was poorly defended.

I'm at a loss, I expected a much better performance. I recently watched a group of U-14 town league players that displayed as much skill as the Rev's U16's showed in this game?
Poor touches, poor decisions and position on defense, too much long ball, no off ball movement or creativity, unable to possess...

Honestly, very shocked. Maybe this was a bad showing, but they just don't look like the cream of the crop for this region.
Just watched the 3 KC goals. The Revs defense is terrible on all 3.

                      Then leave......

It does not happen often and they have other locations. "Excuse me Mr. Baby the Academy is coming in can you please leave?" You apparently have an agenda to bad mouth the Revs. Very obvious.

If offered give the Revs a try. If disgruntled like this poster move on with your little Landon Donavan to another club. Other option you could come on this sight and cry your little eyes out how you were wronged in a free MLS Academy. Same stupid dribble goes on the Bolts TS thread.

Some of the players get to train with the first team and/or the reserves, but even this isn't enough sometimes. In general, the low frequency of training catches up with Revs players by the time they hit U18. That said, however, this year's U18 team is stacked and should do very well. They SHOULD get about 2.5 ppg, but will probably end up at a little over 2 ppg based on past performance.

I don't think posters are necessarily bad-mouthing the Revs so much as telling it like it is. The Revs are clearly the best DAP option in the area, but the potential is so much greater than the reality.

OK dad. Tremendous sacrifice but also a tremendous waste of time. What is the end goal? Play for the Revs and get paid peanuts for a period of time. What will they do when their pro careers are over in 10-12 years? Everyone makes choices in life. Hopefully they save all the money they will get paid (as miniscule as that will be) since in the end they will be living in your basement. Good luck.
