Hold that thought for a couple months and try explaining to the bench players parents on u13. By then it will be obvious their kids will get no more than 5-6 hours of playing time out of 20 games for the entire year. Let them enjoy their fantasy for a few weeks but by then the bug-eyed might have a few questions.

This is true- they would like to win but if they lose, they know who/what needs work which is all recorded and analyzed.

The goal for academy players is different than for club players. The goal is not to log in as many minutes as possible.

Probably middle ground in these two competing ideas. True, academy players likely have different goals other than logging in as many minutes as possible. On the other hand, if you are sitting on the bench (and traveling to sit on the bench), that's crazy as well.

The goal is development which cannot happen without playing time. Very simple concept.

And token minutes/starts doesn't do anything for development. You can train 7 days a week but if you rarely play there will be little truly learned. Implementation on the field ingrains those lessons.

Tell a starter they're not going t play for several games to "give the other players playing time" and see how that goes over. They may not be going for minutes (and really that's up to the coaches to decide) but don't tell me players don't mind sitting. Any player that dedicated wants to play as much as possible. Sitting on the bench is crushing.

How large will the U13 Revs/Bolts/Seacoast rosters be?

Have you ever thought that players need to compete for their playing time. These kids were afforded a chance to play on the top team in NE and it is their duties to break the starting VI if their wanted to play on a consistent base. Typical entitled parents who care nothing but their own little Donavan. Wonder why soccer sucks in the States. Everybody are entitled.

Most teams play with 11 players, not 6 but you have completely missed the point. Having your kid make "the top team in NE" because of some silly alliance doesn't do him any good. The Revs filled out their rosters with "alliance" bench players. Players that are the same level (or in some cases, clearly better) who will actually get to play considerable playing time in NPL will be MUCH better off in the long run. To improve, you need to play.

And nobody is jealous. We are laughing at you.

I don't have a kid in the program so I couldn't careless what you think. Like you said if the Revs has to pick 2 kids with similar skill set maybe other considerations may contributed to them selecting a player who they are more comfort with. If your kid has less exposure to the Revs it is your kid responsible to beat out the other kids for their spot and playing time. I know players on the Revs DA and they have been with the program for sometime now but guess what they earned it.

Be honest with yourself and in the long run it will work out better for your kid. As someone who is familiar with the Revs DA I would not recommend a player unless I know the player that I recommended is better than the starting VI.

What do you mean "alliance" players? The alliance is for U12. If you specifically mean Valeo or NEFC players, then why would they be "bench" players- they have been on the top teams in the USA for several years now.

Do you know what the advantage is to be an academy player? Sounds like you don't.

The Revolution rosters for U13 and U14 academy players are relatively small. You can laugh all you want. We are not laughing at you. We've forgotten all about you and moved on.

About 20 players and 20 games. Do the math.
