Not baited breath just curiosity. My kid didn't make it some of his friends made it some didn't. No interest in revs professional soccer just curious which of the kids I've been watching since 9 are considered the elite by the revs.

After spending countless hours driving flying watching games I am sure many are curious. As you said great accomplishment just curious which peers achieved it. G

$60,000 is more than my nephew made out of college.

On the rookie MLS salary point, the average entry level salary for a mechanical engineer is $62,000 and that's after dropping $180,000 for an undergrad degree. So, I would gladly accept my son playing a game he loves and getting paid for it. MLS Homegrown salaries now have a paid educational aspect for future expenses (replaced Generation Adidas terms)

Enough with the nonsense. Typical Revs Academy parents thinking their son's are all going to waltz onto the first team and sign a Homegrown contract. Delusional beyond comprehension. How does the Kraft koolaid taste? They are just exploiting your kid. If he doesn't pan out, he's dropped like a rock after one season.

Career in soccer: a few years.
            Career in engineering: a lifetime

But don't fret. Soon enough you'll realize he isn't good enough to play professionally and you'll reset the priorities

You mean like you did? Peaked in high school?

That's the amount I handed over to GPS for 10 years of club soccer.

Worry about your own kid. He will probably get a lot more playing time in NPL than many of the bench warmers on Revs.

Take a lesson from the exceptional players on France playing tomorrow in the Euro final:
If your genuine goal is for your son to be the best player he can eventually be, stay away from DAP, and run away from the Revs. And if he already made it and you are committed, watch him closely and ask yourself if he is truly enjoying himself AND if he is actually getting better as a player.

Get creative and energetic (while saving countless hours driving to Gillette) and find other ways for him to hone his skills. But the Revs are not the answer if you want him to be the best player he can eventually be. Just watch their MLS game tonight and seriously ask yourself what you think of the skill sets and coaching on display.

And that's the absolute best case scenario if you go with the Revs!

How long will you harbor the bitterness about your son not being picked up by an Academy team? I understand you are not a fan of the Revs or MLS but just curious on where you think the best youth soccer development exists in New England? Is it High School? " Creative and energetic" what the f does that mean? You sir, sound like such an amateur and absolutely clueless. I've never encountered such a Revs hater in my life. Just trying to uncover as to why, and I suspect I do know the reason.

Sounds like an NEFC or GPS parent whose son is on nobody's radar.

Has spent thousands of $$ on RDS and nothing. Zero

Not the Revs hater but there's a reason JK tells players to go to Europe. There's a reason college teams are filled with foreign players. There's a reason the best new young player on the NT trained in Europe. DA isn't working. Call it "the best in the US" if you want but that isn't saying very much.

Just a fan of the game who lives in reality. Folks like you (parents with talented sons and yet grossly ignorant of the game) who wear the perpetual rose colored glasses are probably the biggest reason US soccer will not improve any time soon.
