Portugal was the most awesomest trip ever! Beautiful part of the world, crazy soccer fans, and fantastic food. Best trip. Worth every penny.

ps we had the Revs goalie with us.
Don't worry Valeo parent. The Revs parents are nervous. Get used to parent drama, it's rampant in DA. But take my advice - don't make it worse by taunting them either. Take the high road - they'll HATE it! The kids will settle it on the field

These Valeo ******* parents are in for a shock. Nobody gives a sh1t. Trying to pump up their kids by a pay to play European trip. Seriously? A couple of players total in three age groups that will see playing time. The rest are so average. Bench for a year and gone.

Other poster is right - you Revs parents are nervous, or at least one of is because you keep trash talking like a boxer before a fight. Why spend so much time trashing a group of kids/trying to frighten people unless you are worried? How about just waiting to see what happens? If your kid is good enough you have nothing to worry about. If they bomb they bomb, then you can gloat all you want.

No dog in this fight but one only needs to look at how many kids started with Revs at U14 and ended up finishing with them as U18's. There is quite a bit of player movement on and off this team and it is probably the same at all the academy teams in the area. Is the coaching and development at the Revs better than elsewhere. Probably not. It's main advantage is that it is free and that it attracts far more college recruitment opportunities when the time comes. Realistically for most players, this should be the goal since turning pro is not in many players' future.

The Revs are finally getting it right (or better) this upcoming year. The 2002 and 2003 teams will dominate (if they truly eliminated some weaker players from the U13/14 team) and most of these players will stay around.

Ha! Not a single team they played was ranked in GotSoccer...how good could they possibly be...

Dominate who? Why do you proclaim they got it right this year?

Actually, the entire point of MLS Academies is developing players into National Team players and future pro's.

In that case...DA is nearly an epic fail. Slight uptick in pro players, minimal improvement in international play. Ten years in.

Not really, do you know the present collegiate players who are in line for Homegrown signings? I do, there are at least 4 or 5. Revolution academy system is only 7 years old.
Valeo players, stay where you are, do yourselves and the region a favor.

As a citizen of the region, I feed obligated to ask you a question about this.

                              Are you are on crack?

You replied to me. I have no connection with Valeo. I am just a fan of the game who recognizes what a crap organization the Revolution are. 4 or 5 signings to what? The MLS team? Talk about damning with feint praise! How's that working for ZH? The Revs take talent and turn it into mediocrity. They have one player in their sad academy that if he was coached properly and largely turned looseto play, would have had a serious chance to play high level professional soccer, even in Europe. But the Revs have handcuffed him since the minute they got him and turned him into the model of crap coaching that they are.

Fwiw, I am truly just an outside fan of the game and have no connection to the Revs or Valeo (nor the player I referenced). If I had a son gifted with the ability to make the Revs, it's the last place I would want him to play.
