Held their own against top Seville academy team, who won the Cup.

First game of the tournament too. Seville is amazing. Just amazing. If you want to see what professional soccer players look like at age 13- this is it.

Unbelievable privilege to play this team.

Amazing stuff, now that that the ridiculous Ibercup is over and you've blown thousands of dollars over an utterly meaningless pay to play tournament, rest up and get ready for a rude awakening in the USSDA. Where your sons' will play significantly less or may not start at all and you'll realize that they will be middle of the pack players.

Maybe they were "discovered" and will play for Seville?

...sounds like you are speaking from experience combined with bitter memories from your own past.

Let it go. The bitterness is very ugly and probably very evident to those around you.

Well, now that they're at the Revs, playing for free, they can justify having spent the money on a great life experience. If the kids can't cut it after the first year they'll be cut. But you sound more like someone who is worried about what might happen to your own kid at the Revs. Maybe you should sort that out before you worry about how other people spend their money.

Haha! You have to admit- great logic. Play against teams in Europe but will not keep up with US players.

Maybe if you tell the Revs coaches your boy played in a pay-to-play tournament in Europe, they will be impressed. We're not.

Just because they played in Europe doesn't mean they played well.

You certainly are a Valeo parent and a liar, and I assure you that playing for the Revs is not like anything you and your son have had any experience with, not in Maple, EDP or that stupid tournament in Portugal. The Revs coaching staff and directors will immediately see if your boy has the soccer fundamentals to develop him into a top tier player. They see that almost instantly and in weekly training. If they see nothing to improve on, they will be cast aside within a year and sometimes sooner. It's not for the faint of heart. You have been forewarned. Enjoy the summer.

Thank God playing for the Revs is not like other soccer experiences. They are a sad organization. Happen to catch your headline team last night? Or any night this season? Heaps and co. are quite bad.

You are pursuing laundry, chasing a dream that is pure fantasy that the Revs are some kind of magic bullet to soccer stardom. Their development of young players is awful as is their coaching in general.

If your son has talent, and your goal is for him to be the best possible soccer player he can be, I would keep him away from Gillette and the dead end that it is. especially at a young age. Train him up and maybe let him play at 18 for exposure if you fear he won't get it otherwise, but you have to realize that the Revs have gotten the best talent from a big demographic for many years and have nothing to show for it.

You think he'll blossom at the NPL level or maybe the newly created ECNPL? Don't think so. Put the Revolution aside for now, it's the league (USSDA) you should be chasing. Also playing alongside the best talent at their age level and the Revs have both those points. The Bolts and Seacoast do not.

Amen brother. Creativity and development come to a screeching halt at Gillette. At least wait until 16 so you can reap the benefits of college recruiting. If a kid is that good waiting a few years won't hurt them - as long as they keep working hard and get good coaching elsewhere. As the Revs supporter said, the Revs will spit out anyone who doesn't perform so no need to rush into it - wait until the next opening. Gives your kid a chance to see how tolerable or awful his high school is also.

                            Great advise

Wow that's some great advise!! Wait until he is 18 ? Your a friggin fool. Go play high school for 2-3 years that's the ticket.

We've seen the Valeo players. Perennial bench DAP or start NPL is the question.

It's funny how certain parents are bashing all the new Valeo recruits. Mean and petty and no real reason.

Portugal was the most awesomest trip ever! Beautiful part of the world, crazy soccer fans, and fantastic food. Best trip. Worth every penny.

ps we had the Revs goalie with us. 😄
