Not the OP but just ask university presidents about the issues they have with kids of helicopter parents. Some can't even wipe their own azzes without texting their parents about how to do it

Helicopter parents ultimately undermine the own kids development because soccer is a thinking game. That's why teams like Uzbekistan, one of the poorest on earth, have beaten the well-groomed USA boys. If you grow up bare foot but playing hours a day without performing for mommy and daddy, you learn to think for yourself.

It is funny how the most helicopter of parents are the ones chiding others. ;)

It's actually more of an IP address grab by the Revs. They collect the IP addresses of the people that click their links and cross reference them against the IP addresses from their RDS registrations so they can identify who actually comes to Talking Soccer. Ingenious when you think about it.

Before I ask this question just want to say... No need to mock me... Honestly, I'm curious and have no skin in the game. So, no tryouts for the other age groups? So for example, 2001's and 2002's. No open tryouts? They've either scouted you or picked players from their own development groups, etc? Is that right? So, basically teams already picked... (And no, I wasn't expecting an invite for my kid). 😃

Pretty much yes. But they already had most of those teams formed anyway. U13 is new (most clubs are adding all the way down to U12). But they'll still have prescreened most of the players they want for this group as well.
