"Gold" expression. I've heard this before, we know you GPS coach. Peter's not going to like you being on here. Bugger off.

Youngsters are looked at and signed at a very, very, young age. Been happening since the beginning of time in soccer. Sorry you're losing players to the Revs mate. Gold.

If there is an exodus to Revs then GPS has done a great job. They should be congratulated. More people will flock to their program for training in hopes that they can make the jump to DAP next year.

If they don't work hard at training week and week out all year long on a consistent basis, they drop down the chart. Someone also pointed out, if you and your budding superstar are afraid to fail in life, then what lessons are you really teaching him? Stay with you cozy little club and write the checks so he can play significant minutes. what else do you want to hear? Pros get released and cut every day.#lifelessons[/QUOTE

For the better dozen players perhaps but the deep bench players, a handful of minutes will retard development. Talk to some of the sour faced parents on the u14 team. Where do you think those players will be for the combined u15-16 team when they bring in a few more stuffs and cut more than half the players? Basically a year or two of training for your kid and then dumped, that's the reality.
Bench player for revs might not get the playing time in the games. But the practices and scrimmages are probably ten times better then playing down a level.

            "mass exodus to the Revs"
How many makes up a 'mass exodus'? 2, 3, 4, 5??? I don't think there is any particular age group with the Revs that includes a 'mass exodus' from any club. Assuming that I am right....and I am....I suspect that GPS will have plenty of players to field strong teams. The current U14NPL team lost three very very strong players to the Revs last year. Was this a mass exodus? Nevertheless, this team is still on top of the division.

Yes, okay but you do realize that U14 is the definitive age group where boys drop out of club soccer and play high school only. In other words the club competition at this age group is drastically watered down. The results are incredibly skewed.

I think there's been more than one bench player for the Revs on the U14 team. Look at the games started percentages on the USSDA website.

Why do you keep trying to make GPS bigger than it is. On the u14 roster there is only 2 listed as GPS. NEFC and FC Mass has the most. The kids from Explosion have better skills than the two GPS kids

McClub now has over ten teams per age group but placed one or two in Revs?
That's about one percent and doesn't consider the so called superstars with bad attitudes that get cut after a year.

Nope. On current U14 roster, there are 4 from FC Mass, and 3 apiece from NEFC and GPS. Rest are from a smattering of other clubs.

What are the chances of a walk on going to try out and making team? I am referring to a 2001 who does not attend RDS.

Extremely unlikely unless he just moved to the area - Revs have a good idea who is around and who they want well before tryouts.

                              How do they spot talent?

Do the coaches go to tournaments and games or do they scout talent that comes to their clinics and RDS?

There is a few RDS coaches that coach in Maple so they know the kids in Maple. The NEP Clubs participate in RDS and get recommend by their coaches and invited to RTC. I haven't heard of them actually going to tournaments as scouts.
