I wonder- some head scratching going on with player field placement.

The 2002 and 2003 teams have not played a 'real' game yet. Once that starts, it will be easier to see how decisions may be made.

According to my son, all players start with an equal chance. Let's see if that is true.

By that same argument, Jan/Feb/Mar 2000's are really 99's and early year 01's are really 00's. You singlehandedly give new meaning to relative age effect. Rationalize however you wish, but quite a promotion for the kid nonetheless. Especially since DAP age group call ups typically come after the second half of the Academy year.

I would think this Jan '02 boy would be playing with and against some Jan 00's? Right? So yeah, 2 years older, some of them.

In the Revs organization, playing up is standard practice (in keeping with USSDA directives). Last year, multiple 00s played U18 (playing essentially "three years up").

LMAO. Good luck with that. Above is correct - the Revs could care less what parents think. They have your kid and you have very little say in what happens - other than packing up and leaving.

No offence but don't you think the Revs coaches have a better idea of where to put players? Many times a player will develop incredibly at a different position than they are used to. It's better to play at a different position than to sit on the bench because there are lots of other players for the one they are used to.
You may be pleasantly surprised how things turn out.

Probably the best example of this is the NT wide back on the U18s. He started out as a winger and occasional CMF, but has achieved great success as an attacking left back. Positional shifts don't always work out well for the players, but sometimes they hit a home run!

Absolutely no 2000's played with 98's last season!! You are dead wrong on that. Humor us, how some initials?

You're not allowed to put the initials of minors on this site, but I can tell you that the two 00 players at residency played some U18 games, as did the 2000 CMF who is currently playing with the U18s.
