Why is this tool videotaping my kid? I did not sign on to that. They're minors. Well, a call to my attorney in the morning I guess.

He has multiple Revs games on Youtube. Unfortunately there's probably nothing the offended parent can do about it. Once you step into a more public team/league it becomes more difficult to keep your kid private

Plus sitting in the car. Yes there are:
High school- this is actually a good option if he will have a few more decent players on the team.
Private school soccer. Expensive
Club soccer- this is not really a good option after U14. But you can pay for play on off season.
Pre-academy-
Move to another region-other academies aren't lazy
Go overseas or down to South America

He needs to want it - have the ball at his feet at home, in the yard, in the basement, at the playground. He (you driving if necessary) needs to find pickup games with a few friends - doesn't matter if it's just a few kids. He should watch international soccer to learn the game, strategies etc). Because you're right - a few hours of practices, no matter how good they are, isn't enough. But don't force it - he has to want it

Up to U13 the US develops players as well as anywhere. After that when kids in other countries are accelerating their development the kids here are slowing down. Some residential academies starting here have the right idea.

Totally agree - those kids live and breathe soccer overseas. But here many parents will not be willing to risk their children's education - at least not the current primary demographic of middle to upper income families. There are also far more academies overseas, while here few will be able to afford running such a program.
