No comparison between ECNL and the Pro sponsored DAP. Maybe Bolts and Seacoast.

Riiiiiiight. Which is why they're constantly posting here about how superior DAP is.

That is not so funny. Everybody knows, in the soccer world, 1:6 for the 11v11 football game is pretty bad loss.

And who the hell is this Claudio Reyna guy, never heard of him. Even he is good player, why does his son have to be a good player as well? Do you know where Maradona's son plays?

"Stop being an ignorant American casual soccer fan" as if you are speaking to yourself.

The fact that you don't know who Claudio Reyna is ... Means you lose all credibility.

I know George Weah's son played in this league a few years back, Rev didn't lose 1:6.
            What is your point?

Your post has to be one of the most ignorant one in a long time.

                  Right path to what?

How many players have passed through the Revs academy? Hundred's and hundred's and what do the Revs have to show for it. 2 players. Pretty low success rate for an organization that gets the top talent from a large area. Seems the organization actually isn't too good at 'development'.

The Revs need a local reserve team, where they can keep a close eye on the continuing development of the best players coming out of the academy, rather than having them waste time on college teams, interrupting their development trajectory (unless, or course, the player wants the degree). I'm sure we'd see a lot more homegrown contracts if these players had a couple more years in the system and could closely train with the first team to see where they might best fit in. They seem to be using the Rhinos to further develop kids that have already had a few years of stunted development in college, and not players that have come from their own academy. The current system will not lead to more homegrown players and is wasting the time and resources put into the academy players.

Timothy Weah is now a National team player and an Academy product. Didn't come from Maple or NEP. You moron.

Make that 3 homegrowns and many, many more playing collegiate soccer as we speak that will enter MLS. You blame the MLS Academies for having established the NCAA system?
Part of the landscape in this country.

But it is superior, there's no arguing that.

The DAP's main goal is to develop players for National Team duty. Not MLS. Homegrown Status was developed so MLS clubs can retain their players and not leave them unprotected through the MLS Superdraft. If players choose collegiate soccer, they will negotiate private arrangements with individual players and that includes pro contracts with college money later on in life. As in Zach Herivaux and Diego Fagundez' cases. Large soccer player agency in Weston that works closely with Revs and other MLS team.

Correction: It means he doesn't know the history of US national team soccer. His point was that Claudio Reyna is a name to people in the U.S., not everywhere and besides having a soccer playing father doesn't mean the kid is ridiculous. That said, even with a player like George Weah, who was at a time the best footballer in the world, or Maradona one of the best of all time it is no guarantee of anything. He never said anything bad about Weah's son, on the contrary he said that even though the Revs played against him a few years back, they didn't lose 6-1.

I agree with the earlier post that they've played 2 games, they're a new team, give em time. But ranting that someone doesn't know anything because they don't buy the excuse that Reyna's son was playing just makes you look small minded.

and he's well known in England (having played at Man.City), not just the US.
