There has got to be a root.
A youth coach wizard,
S'got such a supple boot.
'How do you think he does it? I don't know!
What makes him so good?'
He ain't got no distractions
Can't hear those buzzers and bells,
Don't see lights a flashin'
Plays by sense of smell.
Always has a replay,
'n' never tilts at all...
That youth coach wizard
Sure plays a mean fut bal.

Looks more like a single good class of players, something that is not uncommon at lots of clubs--see Scorps/Blazers BU15 team. That's not necessarily coaching--might just be luck. Where are the other V teams?

No U13s were utilized or harmed in this game.
Many more coaches and teams have had greater and more consistent success over the years. Actually Newton United has had more success than Valeo and EW.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThe "luck" is getting a particularly good class of kids--happens at lots of clubs, and here it was obviously aided by a merger with another club. Too often on this board, coaching is credited for success that is largely a function of talent. All the "hard work and training" won't help if the talent isn't there. In order to credibly credit the coaching for a team's success, you need to see performance across multiple age groups.
