There are teams (not saying entire clubs, but some teams within clubs) in MA that train twice a week from mid-July through mid-June and play upwards of 80 games a year (outdoor and indoor soccer and futsal). And the base prices (that I am aware of, and I do not claim to know them all) are a good amount south of $2000.
    And they are?

I don't have the interest or desire to drag another club's teams from another age group into this thread.

That said - I think you can figure it out.
These teams would fit the following description (some teams are very good, others not so much):
      - obviously play league play
      - never seems to miss a tourney
      - plays indoor soccer
      - plays in one or more futsal leagues
      - plays futsal regionals
      - plays post-season tourneys

And when you find a few that fit all of those criteria, those are the ones that I'm referring to.

80 games for less than $2000? Very good teams? Not in this age group.

The cost of the program at Valeo is not the main reason for its desirability. It can be cheaper if you do the barebones and use it as a recreational sport as some do on the lower teams. The cost per hour can also be much cheaper if you count up all the hours of training available due to volunteer coaches from NU running many of the technical and scrimmage training hours. The value of your dollar only increases if your kid actually attends.

However, if your kid is on one of the top teams, costs will start to mount as you travel to tournaments, etc. But this is expected and communicated clearly. The facility, the caliber of dedicated players, coaches, and yes the parents all add to the desirability of Valeo as an excellent soccer club. The banter on TS is just that-banter not to be taken seriously.
If they are short and central american it sounds more like a description than an attack. As for mounting costs and value of dollar...that's all relative to who's dollar it is. To some $2000+ is a lot of money and to others it isn't. There is no right or wrong when it comes to what some people spend on their children.

My child plays for Valeo. Here are our fees.

            U9 Teams: $1800
            U10-U14 Teams: $2400
            U15-U18 Teams: $2000

            + uniform.

To make sure you are comparing apples to apples. We have had 4 weeks of 2 day practices already. And the finally 2 weeks of this summer, the practices are every day.

            Any other questions?

Some of the age groups, including this one, have had 4 practices per week this summer at Valeo.

The Valeo team will be very good and racist lunatics on TS will go absulutely bonkers about Valeo ten and eleven year olds. Not really interested in pleasing these *******s. In fact glad they are so jealous.
I'm not a WUP or NEFC parent but my son plays them regularly and both of those teams have won quite a few games in the past year so if winning is how you judge whether a team is good or not I'd say they are. Despite all their success you barely hear them on TS vs what you hear from Valeo/NU. Doesn't sound like many comments on here question whether V/NU will have a good team either...and if they do they can simply scroll through the multiple posts from V/NU parents telling us all you'll be "very good" and how we are all "so jealous" of your club. Cheers!

I said the age groups vary.
I said some teams are very good, and others not so much.
I also said it was a base price.

If all your indoor leagues, futsal leagues, and all tournaments are included in your club cost - it would be the first that I've ever heard of it.

I never questioned your choice of club, or the experience that you are having. My point remains that there are less expensive successful teams that exist.

That said - just because there are less expensive clubs out there that play and train just as much doesn't mean you (or anybody else) are making a bad choice. Obviously location and convenience are very important, as is the happiness of the players.

I hope your child is getting everything that you want them to get out of their club.

Let me show you how it works, Missy.

WUP and NEFC are overrated. Their players are just big athletes with no skill.

                            Wait for it......

I feel like I'm buying a used car from some guy in a leisure suit. Cost per hour isn't a calculation usually associated with joining a soccer club. You pay more than a lot of people. It's okay to admit that. It isn't a crime to pay a lot to play soccer. Spare everyone the fuzzy math justification please.

Proof positive that the NU/Valeo parents are narcissistic fruitcakes.

Good effort Richard...but way off base again. Have you seen either team play? WUP and NEFC have 1 player each that is significantly ahead of the median size wise. The former a FW and the latter a GK. Beyond that each team is filled with average to slightly above average sized kids...similar to most of the teams around here. Maybe your team is filled with average to below average sized kids so the WUP and NEFC boys look bigger? Skill wise these kids are good+, heads up players who work hard and are well coached. Add that up and my guess is that's what contributed to their combined 54-3 record last season. Anyway, good luck this season to all the U12's being discussed in this thread.
